Well, at least the information isn't plaintext like PSN's
picture not showing, damn school networks what is it?
Posted here also http://www.facepunch.com/threads/1139573 But good to post it in here also so the forum knows. Not sure how many that reads the news forums.
It's probably an attack by EA so people switch over to origin
It's probably an attack by EA so people switch over to origin
Nahh, EA is too busy attacking our privacy to do that
I don't even remember my Steam forum account password. Unless I do remember it and it's been comprimised, but it's not like I use it much anyways.
does credit card info get stored even if i dont choose to have the card saved?
steamguard will save me
This is actually a good point Even if they have your email and password, they can't get into the account without you verifying that it's you trying to get in Anyone who didn't at least set up and verify an email address linked to the account is probably fucked though
I wouldn't worry too much about personal information. They said it would be a good idea to change your forum password and if you share the same password as your steam account change both. Just keep a close eye on your bank if you're nervous.
I don't even remember my Steam forum account password. Unless I do remember it and it's been comprimised, but it's not like I use it much anyways.
They compromised a Steam DB. Doesn't matter if you do or don't even have a forum account, you're still at risk.
I love this, remember when they said that steam will be impossible to hack, well now here's the truth to it all, if that group Lulzsec couldn't why could these people do it? That said i honor those hackers.
Oh god I went to log into Steam and missed a letter in my password and thought my account had been taken.

First my email gets keylogged and Yahoo is taking their sweet time (nigh in 6 days) to get back to me. For reference, they say their usual response time is 24 hours OR LESS. Now I can't even change my contact email on my account. I swear if they get my steam account I will raise all kinds of hell with Yahoo.

So yeah, your Steam account can be "impossible" to hack.
Not too worried about this. Still it's time for a password change anyway.
Nevermind, I read it badly the first time. Didn't read the Database part. Oh fuck Oh fuck, we're gonna be poor
Only thing I'm worried about is credit cards.

That said i honor those hackers.
I honor the person who punches you in the face I'd love to see where they said steam would be impossible to hack, seeing as nothing can be 100% secure because of the whole "If you build better security, someone will build a better hack" And because of the extra security measures on steam, you need to hack someone's email address to get into their steam account, so peoples accounts still aren't going to be taken over if they decrypt the steam passwords
You're scaring people. The Account Information was not confirmed to have been leaked. They're just saying that when they attacked the servers, they COULD have gotten account information.
Thank fuck Forum Passwords are different.
I love how all of you rage Haha, gotta love the idiots of the internet, who don't see logic in one's post. (User was banned for this post ("Trolling" - Jaanus))
Well, time to change my password and be stressed for weeks and hoping my credit cards info don't get stolen again.
A hack isn't a leak. A leak is when the information is publicly available. That said though, change your passwords anyway (And I'd suggest deauthorizing all other machines from Steam Guard as a precaution)
What the hell, I don't remember buying the Valve Complete Pack for myself. Oh fuck, it's a hundred dollars! Well I guess all those Valve games are good to have, and it is getting pretty close to my birthday so maybe my parents won't mind. Hmm...what's that? Apparently I also gifted copies to all of my 94 friends? FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU
Account deleted, bank account purged, and computer set ablaze. Moving to Costa Rica, pce
Why does anyone use Yahoo mail?
Not everyone has their own domain, or likes Gmail/Hotmail
