it was just shown off today by a website venture beat (it's a massive article about the game idea and such, go read it):

Basic Summary from the Link:
The idea is a new evolution in gaming that Wright calls “personal gaming.” It is a game that can customize itself for the individual player, taking into account aspects of player’s real-life situation as elements of the game.
It’s not an easy concept to understand, particularly because Wright isn’t describing the game in detail yet.
“Rather than craft a game like FarmVille for players to learn and play, we learn about you and your routines and incorporate that into a form of game play,” Wright said.
He noted, for instance, that there may be 50 different dimensions to a person that could be learned through data collection. Some of those dimensions could be location-based, like where you are, where your friends are, and how much money is in your wallet. It may sound like a creepy invasion of your privacy for game to know that about you, but Wright wants to emphasize the entertainment value of sharing and why people will probably share that information gladly.
Anything by Will Wright is usually awesome, so this should be awesome too.
Once there's more info ill update the OP
Well, that's... interesting.
Sounds like he's just creating Facebook.exe
this better not end up like spore
this better not end up like spore
as long as assholes don't tell him to make the game easier i doubt it will happen.
if it's by Will Wright, not EA, I'm all for it
man's a genius
So is this an actual game, or some sort of program to help you find cool stuff going on near you?
If it's a game, and it ends up like another Spore, I will have SO MUCH rage.
Wait, wait wait wait... This sounds like an incredibly transparent excuse for doing some good 'ol fashioned data mining.
Didn't Will leave EA after Spore?
"You know what'd be a really cool video game? Real life!"
Didn't Will leave EA after Spore?
Probably the greatest decision he's ever made in his game-creating life.
Yes. Shame EA had to ruin Spore with that shitty DRM service.
I don't think the DRM service was the worst part they ruined. . .
So basically he wants to make every player a Sim?

The Sims 4: Real Life?

That sounds a bit too 'control-ish'. Imagine if your mate needs some money for his rent and you get a text to send him a few dollars, and your friends get same text except it says to send this random stranger a dollar.
Now, imagine if someone could tap into that and send mass text or something along those lines. Since you're only sending a dollar and your quest is complete, you don't care anymore, but the receiver gets like a thousand.
:v:
Hivemind only works if it's really a hive, communist style.
