For Half-Life 2 Death-match The dedicated server and a normal server does have something special about it showing up on the server list or does it really not make much difference just a different way of pressing the create server and pressing start.
There's a significant difference, especially since pressing "Create a Server" doesn't actually create a server in the server list that others can join
