So what is it coming out on: All current Gen consoles, PC apparently and DS. Release date?: 16 October worldwide apparently Who's making it: Toys for Bob with another company adding finishing touches. Yes it's the spin-off of your childhood hero that made everyone rage about it months ago, and from the looks of it....It looks alright. The game seems to be going back to the franchises roots of mass humor as well as sneaking crap past the radar. Childhood friends such as gems, egg thieves and sheep will return while their absence in the other Spyro reboot however things from that reboot such as a evil sided spyro and Cynder will make a appearance. (For those who don't know Cynder was a accepted character until her design in DOTD made her a Scalie magnet to the community and the internet with a wave of fangirls and boys that made most of the fandom quit) I have a feeling that might turn into a meme towards the fandom.
In Skylanders: Spyro's Adventure, players take on the role of a powerful Portal Master who can control over 32 different characters, including the beloved fire-breathing dragon, Spyro. Players will embark on a fantastical journey into an amazing world, where they will explore mysterious, mythical lands, battle menacing outlandish creatures, collect gold and treasures, and solve interesting puzzles while on a quest to save their world from Kaos, an evil Portal Master, that they must defeat. The video game comes with 3 action figures and a peripheral called the "Portal of Power", which connects to the player's console of choice. Each action figure represents one of 32 playable characters, including Spyro, each with unique abilities. The playable characters become unlocked when their corresponding action figures are placed on the Portal of Power. Players can also place one of these special action figures on the Portal of Power of a friend's console (even if it is not the same type of console), and the character's amassed scores, level-ups and achievements are instantly imported for the gameplay session. Additionally, two figures can be placed on the portal simultaneously, for cooperative or versus play. Characters each have a primary attack, and a secondary attack. They gain experience points by defeating monsters, and leveling up will result in the possibility of getting upgrades. Each character has its own special abilities that differ from each other, as well as assigned elements. This provides some replayability, as each character faces the world in different ways. Although the game only comes with 3 action figures, players can purchase the remaining 29 action figures separately, if they so choose. All 32 toys are playable on all the game platforms Skylanders: Spyro's Adventure will be on.
Now before we go ragetastic, the game seems to have a similar build to The Unholy War. The Unholy War was made by Toys for Bob and originally they wanted to make this Spyro game more darker and mature towards a Conker feel, Heck there is even a creature like this one on the cover in the game of Skylanders My Childhood is ruined?: No it died after the PS1 days and this game is a spin-off meaning there sequels of this and the main franchise will both be made All in All this game looks interesting and really if it didn't have the name SPYRO in it the childhood rape and fandom crying wouldn't really matter. For now? Lets all rage
I just don't want to talk about this. Fuck it. Fuck Activision.
My childhood was butchered. edit: Imo it wouldnt be as bad if Spyro didnt look like some kind of hideous monster, but it would still be pretty bad.
Spyro looks like a pug.
Why are the graphics so fucking shitty? It barely even looks better than the original Spyro games
Alrightish idea, why it had to be stapled to Spyro I don't know.
Why do the graphics look like they belong on a ps2?
Why did they fucking take a buzz saw to Spyros' face?

Avatar fits so damn much, Koekje4life.
The idea itself is a decent concept for kids. But that ugly purple downs-syndrome looking thing is not Spyro.
I'm buying it because the concept is a good idea they just dont need spyro
Oh god Spyro... WHAT DID THEY DO TO YOU WHAT DID THEY DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO The style of it looks horribly confused, looks like they tried to use simple textures on some things (the Zoidbergs) and "complex" ones on others
I've played the old Spyro games, but I was never a fan. He's no Crash Bandicoot.
Now that you posted the thread it reminds me that Cynder has tits in Skylanders. And this is supposed to be a 100% kids game! [editline]27th September 2011[/editline] Also the game costs roughly 350 dollars with all the characters. It pays off more to get the original Spyro trilogy than to buy Skylanders. However you could probably bypass the thing by printing out the figurine symbols on a sheet of paper and put it on the portal detector.
How does that make any sense? A) She's a dragon, which is reptilian. Reptiles don't have mammaries B) This is a kid's game. What possible reason is there to put things in to gratuitously appeal to a demographic that doesn't exist? Maybe they're trying to get furries to buy the game or something? I dunno.
I wouldn't be suprised. Oh yeah, I think the game will also feature Dark Spyro(from LoS) and Flame, who's pretty much a reskin of Spyro.
Kill me, it hurts to live.
Here's the character chart, people! These are the fellas you'll be emptying your pockets for!
Spyro 1-3 were fucking awesome. R.I.P. Spyro.
Personally, I kind of liked HT and the first two LoS games. Sure, they didn't played exactly like the original trilogy, but they were just fine. Unlike Enter the Beta, the portables, the third LoS and... this thing!
All these crazy looking things, what happened to the old school guys like Hunter and Sergeant Byrd?
I should of mentioned all the pictures in the OP are wii game screen-shots.
Wait, i stopped following spyro after 3... They made a relatively grimdark version?
Yep. But they kind of did managed to pull off the darker level themes from the original three games. However, when a game is based around a purple dragon collecting precious stones with his glowing dragonfly before beating up big bad's mooks you can't really make a grimdark game.
I tried playing the games after YotD but without all the wise-ass characters(including Spyro himself) it lost it's charm. Sometimes I think the power newer consoles have just make developers want to do reckless things that can change a game into something it never would had been if it was on the PS1 as well. I mean seriously, the newer ones are basically God Of War: Dragon Edition.
The only reason any of these games have Spyro in them is because they hope to leech of his popularity. They have nothing to do with the original Spyro games.
"Oh cool, I remember I had a season of something Spyro game for the Game Boy that I always used to play! I wonder if they're still like what they used to b--JESUS CHRIST MARY AND JOSEPH MOTHER OF GOD WHAT IS THAT ABOMINATION"
A Toys R Us had a demo station for this set up, with the Spyro, Murlok thing, and the orange thing with the guns as the three figures we could choose. It was the Wii version too, and it was drop-in drop-out character-wise(as in take Spyro Statue off put on Murlok bam). It's like a goofier original trilogy Spyro from PSX. Just with an assload of playable characters instead of 5.
Jesus fuck, Spyro looks like absolute shit. Someone PLEASE tell me why do these big companies butcher and ruin such good franchises?
Let's see how this plays, spyro looks stupid but all in all let's see what this game brings! Youtube will show us soon enough.
As far as I know it's also coming to the PC.
