Crysis is now on Xbox 360 and PS3. [release]Hailed for the longest as the greatest looking game ever made, the 2007 shooter from indie studio Crytek made waves as a benchmarking success like no other PC game before it. Continually referred to as a pioneer in video game visual effects, Crysis is no longer a PC exclusive, and Crytek and EA have officially let the game loose on the Xbox 360 and PS3 as a digital download title. Cevat Yerli, Chief Executive Officer of Crytek commented in the press release, saying… “We’re really excited to bring the legendary Crysis to gamers who weren’t able to experience it the first time around,” ... “The CryENGINE 3 has allowed us to remaster the single-player campaign and make significant advancements to the gameplay. We’ve added a new lighting system, some advanced rendering techniques and most importantly, we’ve optimized the Nanosuit controls to utilize its full potential on a gamepad. We really hope that gamers will enjoy playing the game as much as we’ve enjoyed developing it.” Controversy was a stir when Yerli made claims in an interview [via CVG] that the game performs better on Xbox 360 and PS3 than it does on PC. PC fanboys united by hurling high-end, flaming insults at Crytek for making such a claim, as they typed furiously on their liquid cooled, quad-SLI equipped, hexacore PCs. However, the comments about performance are not unwarranted. Crysis for the Xbox 360 and PS3 has been highly optimized in the newer CryEngine 3, with advanced features making the game more streamlined than it was when it originally released on PC. Technically, the game will perform better on consoles than a low to mid-ranged PC from 2007, just to be clear. You can pick up Crysis, digitally, for Xbox 360 for 1600 MS Points or £14.99/$19.99 or for PS3 for £15.99/$19.99 . To learn more about the game be sure to visit the Official Website. [/release] I might actually buy this even if i own it on PC, i want to see how well it has been "ported". On Xbox 360 you can find it in the, "Games on Demand" Section of the Game Marketplace. Can you guys seriously take the PC Vs. Console shit out of here, it's really not needed.
Why play an inferior version of a game if the superior version came out in 2007?
Because not everyone can run it on PC? [editline]5th October 2011[/editline] That's basically the main reason they released it on Console, because even after 4 years, there are still people who can't run it on PC because they don't have a computer powerful enough to handle it, it is still a demanding game.
Trust me, I bet you can run it visually better than what you'd get on the console versions. Have you seen the screenshots?
I never would have thought a 360 could run Crysis half decently.
Wow first post and there's already a PC vs Consoles bullshit going, stay classy. The only reason this works is because they ported it to CE3 and took out the multiplayer presumably for PSN and XBLA limits.

It's still on Games on Demand though.
looks better than the unmodded pc version
The graphics are actually great.
looks better than the unmodded pc version

looks better than the unmodded pc version
What are you guys talking about? This looks nowhere near as good as the PC version. Still looks really good for a console game though.
looks better than the unmodded pc version
it seriously doesn't it just has a fucked tod

I'm not trying to start a flame war, just stating the fact.
That's a shit fact, because a PS3 costs less than your computer and it run it round about the same, so i don't understand what you're getting at.

Crysis looks good on the xbox360 but they never optimized it to run smooth, it always felt kind of heavy because the low framerate.
Got it downloading now! Always wanted to play Crysis but have never been able to thanks to my sub-par laptop.

Also what are the achievements like, are they like XBLA games where they only have 200G or is it like retail where it has 1000G?

See for yourself - first 30 minutes of the game, played on the 360: Others have said it does slow down slightly in intense areas. I'm not sure how noticeable it is.
not impressed
only £14.99! Thatd be cool if it wasnt £3 on steam yesterday Sorry, £2.50 for the next 5 hours.
not impressed
What were you expecting? As far as I can tell, it looks far better than it does on my laptop - the console version has HDR, SSAO, POM, sunshafts, colourgrading, etc, and I'm stuck on Medium settings + HDR because my PC can't handle anything higher. Regardless, the gameplay is intact, and that's all I really care about.
tech demo etc
Dare i say it's the best looking game on Xbox 360? One of them at least anyway.
Well for the record, playing Crysis on medium settings is equivalent to Half Life 2 on Max settings. I think the console version graphical settings is set at high but not on Max
