Some people just aren't able to. I could port forward on my old computer, but on this one, I do it, follow the steps and everything to the letter, and it still doesn't work.

I can't foward ports because my modem and router both supposedly are in modem mode or something. I have to bridge my modem with my router, which was quite the task.
