First thread I've made here From Wikipedia
Rocksmith is a music video game produced by Ubisoft similar to Guitar Hero, Rock Band, Power Gig: Rise of the SixString and Offbeat Guitarist, and based on the technology in Guitar Rising.[2] The game's main focus is the unique feature that allows players to plug in virtually any guitar and play.[3] In North America, it is available on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 platforms, with a Windows release scheduled for December 2011.
This game is on XBox 360 and Playstation 3, with a PC release coming up soon Well, my friend just got this game, got a package that came with a guitar, the guitar it comes with is an epiphone junior, and its quite frankly a good guitar for the price. The game is played using your guitar as the controller, not like guitar hero with its 5 buttons, and not like Rock Band 3's pro mode with more buttons then normal, but still not playing a real guitar, but with an actual guitar. It gives you what fret to hit, and when to strum, and it can teach you how to play guitar, it also allows for slides, bends, and chords. The difficulty system is unique, where instead of setting the difficulty for the entire song, the game sets the difficulty dynamically based on how your doing in the song, and it changes throughout the song. The game has a built in amp modeler, if you've ever used amplitube or guitar rig its like that, where as you progress through the game you unlock more pedals and amps and stuff. You also do not have to unlock the tracks in the main mode to play them in arcade mode, it also has arcade games, like Ducks where you strum the fret that the duck appears at, think duck hunter with a guitar instead of a gun. The game has a good track list, such as "House of the Rising Sun", "Sunshine of your Love", "Icky Thump", and 45 other songs. Full Track List: http://rocksmith.ubi.com/rocksmith/en-US/tracklist/index.aspx There is DLC planed, and they have said that if this proves to be popular, they'll start working on other instruments, I also believe that there will be DLC for you bass players out there Videos
Game play: Ducks Game Play:
I've been playing guitar for 6 years, and this game is quite a good game, it can teach people who want to learn guitar how to play guitar, wont teach any theory or how to read sheet music, but it'll help with technique, and it'll help people who have been playing for a while get better.
Needs more songs. Pretty cool game other than that.
I read somewhere about a potential song editor DLC, and they will have downloadable songs I'm guessing. also, offtopic but, I think my fenders neck needs adjusted, it sometimes detects the 15th fret as 14 or 16 if I dont push lightly enough
They're talking about making a bass DLC? FUCK YES! If the song list is good I'll buy this, it looks really good. Support for mics (drums, vocals) would be awesome, and a song editor is a good idea, especially if it allowed you to upload your songs to some kind of database like you could with maps in Little Big Planet.
I actualy do belive microphones will be supported, if they add the bass it wouldn't be too far a strech to add micophones, since they already show to lyrics along the top
UK release is currently on hold due to some shitty band which also has the name Rocksmith, so now they're getting pissy with Ubi. Don't see why they can't just change the name for the Europe release, been done in the past
I saw the title and I thought it sounded like a Minecraft clone. :v: I was thinking of the wrong kind of rock
I saw the title and I thought it sounded like a Minecraft clone. :v: I was thinking of the wrong kind of rock
Build with your guitar in 3d block based environment!
I play guitar, and this seems really interesting.
oh its also 2 player, but no online multiplayer, although that might be a little difficult
Only reason why I was put off was that you couldn't use your own songs.
There was another game a long time ago called Guitar Rising that is very similar, but never took off. This seems a lot better though
Definitely bu- EU Release: 2012
Needs more Muse, Foo Fighters, Radiohead, Dream Theater, Franz Ferdinand, Rage Against the Machine and Queen. Also it supports any guitar? I've modded the fuck out of mine so I'm kinda skeptical.
well, it works the same way as a tuner, it detects frequencies, so yes any guitar
Imagine if online multiplayer was supported. Before the song even starts, you just play a ridiculous solo and the person you're versing quits early hahaha.
