Hey, I've been playing SimCity 4 since its highly anticipated (at least for me) release date.
I've seen some threads on city collaborations before and most people weren't interested/the thread died out.
Any fellow members want to gather and do a collaboration? I thought the idea was smashing but it seems people weren't into it so I'd like to try it.
If anyone is interested I'll start by building!
I'd like to join a collab this time. Should probably get back to playing SC4.
Sweet, I can set up a dropbox share
On the last collab we used symbolic links

There's some instructions here and some other usefull stuff, I won't be taking part though, I'll probably just follow the thread.
Why not try bumping one of those more previously active threads instead of make a half-assed one yourself?
Oh boy, another SimCity collaboration. Oh god so many memories... mostly of problems. Lots of problems. I'm gonna be straight with you, the idea is wonderful and we get so many awesome cities and it is really really fun, but unless you have the know-how to fix all the corruption problems, mod conflicts, desyncs, and all the other problems that arise, I wouldn't start one. It takes a lot of time and effort to maintain because SimCity 4 just wasn't made with this in mind. Expect crashes, expect lost work, expect a lot of things. I could try to help you set things up if you're really dead set on this, but no way I can lead it like last time. You're gonna have to put a lot of time and effort to keep things rolling, though, so if you don't have either I wouldn't recommend it.
Trust me, I led the last two collaborations, I know how this goes down. Be ready for lots of problems and lots of conflicts. I'd recommend read through some of the other collab threads to get a feel of some of the problems before you start.

I was so hoping for Facepunch collaborations in Simcity 2013. I had so much hope for that game. But all we have left is SC4, and its inability to properly work with shared regions.
I would totes join if I had a single clue what to do, and if I had the game.
The last dropbox collab is still there.

It would be nice if there was some way of preventing conflicted copies or letting people know which tiles are currently being played on to prevent conflicted copies from happening.
how about we all just play sim city 5 instead????
Over too quickly.
A Simcity 4 collab is very fun, but as it's been mentioned, expect A LOT of problems. Make sure you and your collaborators know what they're doing
