I remember this game from like 3 years ago. Paid players vs the world. Has it changed much since then?
Lol, I tried this out ages ago and didn't know what the fuck to do.
I remember this game from like 3 years ago. Paid players vs the world. Has it changed much since then?
There are subscription oceans where a regular account is pretty much a tiny demo, but there are now doubloon oceans which use a combination of regular currency and the titular doubloons, which can be purchased for real money or using the ingame currency; it's extremely easy to get by without paying a dime.
What ocean are you guys on? I'm on Malachite. My pirate's name is Phantomo
I played this like 4 years ago, came back to it like a month ago, it's really fun when you actually know what to do, and yeah, it's really easy to get by without paying on doubloon oceans if you look out for the right kind of pillage and use labour properly with a labour badge (I got my first sloop after like a week of playing).
Sage is the best ocean IMO, it's the doubloon ocean with the most people.
Malachite is the best ocean IMO, it's a free ocean with lots of people. Seeing the 400 people on a normal day at sage may change your feelings about it though. Oh god 500 people online, 116 of them are at the same ship.
i made a thread in ggd like a year ago and made a facepunch crew with our own ship and everything im gonna re install and see if its still there [editline]4th September 2011[/editline] turns out all of my stuff is still here, but everyone has left the crew and i'm the only one on there, so just whisper me or send me a pm on here if you want to join. i might be playing today. [editline]4th September 2011[/editline] on malachite by the way
My boat. I have a Prometheus egg and an easel I won in a contest a few years ago, and here's my pirate page: http://viridian.puzzlepirates.com/yoweb/pirate.wm?target=shadaez I'm on Viridian as will everyone from H&S that I get to play with me.
This game was THE shit man. Bilging all day 'erry day. Started again though, on Malachite. IGN is Wurztek, as my name, Warztek, is already taken, and I can't use that account with the steam-linked one.
poker is the only reason to play :P
I wish MY old account didn't get deleted... I want a ship :(
i'm online, if you want to be invited to the crew whisper me (same name) and lets try to restart the crew
holy shit i remember i used to play this years and years ago, my name was heywheresmyte however i think my account got deleted or something because when i put in heywheresmyte it said username available :/
your player name can be different than your account name, so you might have remembered your player name and not the account
holy shit i remember i used to play this years and years ago, my name was heywheresmyte however i think my account got deleted or something because when i put in heywheresmyte it said username available :/
If you used an old/fake email address, your account could have been deleted; after a long time without playing they send you a warning email telling you they're going to clean out the unplayed pirates.
I think that only applies to people without a ship/doubloons.
i'm online, if you want to be invited to the crew whisper me (same name) and lets try to restart the crew
What server are you at(Please be Sage)?
I bought a CD version of this game at a fleamarket one time. I'm sure I have the CD key for my sub somewere still.
I think that only applies to people without a ship/doubloons.
Actually it's people who haven't spent money on the game in general, either buying a subscription of buying doubloons.
Started playing this on Steam, i suck at all puzzles :(
I cant do carpentry worth shit. [editline]7th September 2011[/editline] Or brawling for that matter, its the only tutorial I lost...
Sword Fighting > Carpenting > Gunnery > Navigating > Rigging > Brawling > Sailing > Bilging. I absolutely abhore bilging.
I find bilging way better than sailing, but rigging is by far the most fun duty puzzle, with carpentry occasionally to mix things up a little. You'd better be good/like either sailing or rigging, because those are ALWAYS required, no matter the state of the ship, so there's a good chance you'll spend the majority of your time doing them if you go on pillages.
I loved bilging and hated sailing and carpentry.
Bilger master race. carpentry is what I suck at. I'm good at brawling/swordfighting with no items at all actually(unless if I'm teamed by 4 people at once, holy shit).

Then I tried a weapon that wasn't a foil or a stick. As I hope you know, they make the pattern of blocks your attacks send more varied, which improves the impact of your strikes on the opponent's ability to make combos and send attacks back at you. If you're good with a basic sword, I guarantee you'll be better with ANY other sword.
I've been checking in since it came on steam mostly for poker. From what I'm seeing the game is dying, well at least sage.

Swordfighting is just an easier Tetris; which I am insanely good at. I know swords increase my attack sevenfold and use different patterns, but I just think I'm better off with foil/hands..
