Europa Universalis III gives you the freedom to choose from a impressive choice of over 250 countries, some that may emerge from rebellions. Europa Universalis III also has on the other hand, Cooperative multiplayer over LAN or Internet for up to 32 players. Over the past years, expansions have been released for this fine game, which are "Napoleon's Ambition", "In Nomine", "Heir to the Throne", and "Divine Wind." [release][/release] Minimum: 512 MB System RAM 1.9 GHz Processor 128 MB DirectX 9.0c compatible video card CD-ROM drive 1 GB free hard disk space Mac OS X Edition: Mac OS X 10.3.9 or higher 512 MB System RAM Intel or G5 processor GeForce 5200, Radeon 9600 or GMA 950 with 64 MB VRAM 700 MB free hard disk space [release][/release] Napoleon's Ambition *Expanded Timeline to 1820 The expanded timeline to 1820, will encompass the wars of the French Revolution and Napoleon. New leaders, rulers, advisor wars, countries and national ideas have been added as well as dozens of new units to give more tactical choices. *Historical Options For those gamers looking for an even stronger historical experience, this option is the one. In addition to hundreds of new events, players will be able to see their rulers, leaders and advisors appear on the accurate historical dates. *Improved Interface A new added map mode for trade displaying all goods will be produced in each respective province, including its value. This means more pages for the ledger including information about colonies and leaders, and several improvements to the interface. *More Gameplay Options offer more Strategies Now you can emulate Peter "the Great" and create an all-new capital for your nation. Influence trade in your nation, add centres of trade to bring more wealth into your nation, or remove them to focus trade on a few valuable trading centres. Conquer Europe as Napoleon and dismantle the Holy Roman Empire. *Enhanced Trading System An all-new system to auto send merchants will allow players to choose the trading centres they most want to focus on, and the game will take care of the rest. This system also includes a new rule for trade overseas. The only way players will be able to access markets is to use war or diplomacy to allow merchants in. Get there first and reap the profits! *Additional options More options have been added to customise your EU3 experience. Players will now have options for "No Inflation", "Free Colonisation", "AI Aggressiveness" and many more In Nomine It now starts earlier, starting in October 1399, at the coronation of Henry IV of England. Expanding the game time by 50 years, this means the game includes the Byzantine Empire, Tamerlane and the end of the Hundred Years' War. See exactly what is required to make the decisions that will shape the future of the country - the triggers and effects. Choose to create Great Britain, make Paris worth a Mass, or institute an East Indian Trade Company. You can now implement decisions on both country and province level, with the new decision system, including hundreds of different decisions depending on situation (for example state religion), and of course country. There is a new mission system, where the player and AI will both be given goals to achieve, such as conquering Ireland (for England), vassalising Lorraine (for France), liberating your countrymen, or reclaiming stolen territory. In Nomine also features 'rebels with a cause'. There are countless types of rebels (Religious, Patriotic, Peasant...), with different goals, and different abilities. For example, patriot rebels mean 10 years more nationalism if they take control of a province, and are more likely to defect. You may get colonial rebels in your colonies determined to get representation or independence, you may get reactionary nobles rising up to put the serfs back where they belong. You can now choose between crushing them by force, negotiating with them, or leaving them and watching them enforce their demands on your country. Religious tolerance now depends on the ideas and decisions you take (rather than the more usual sliders), making it a new layer of strategy, although choices are few and far between. As cardinals stay loyal longer, the power of the Papal Controller has grown, as he can now excommunicate rulers, and call crusades against infidels (giving bonuses for any Catholic nation fighting them). It also features a colonial system, where there is a key metric - the distance between where you want to colonise and the nearest core port. Elections in Republics, scorched earth & new spy missions also feature. Heir to the Throne Requested by the fans, Heir to the Throne is the third expansion to the preeminent historical strategy game Europa Universalis III. The expansion takes the hugely successful game beyond complete, with improvements across the board: Features • Intriguing Casus Belli system, where wars have specific goals from start to finish. • Monarchs now belong to dynasties, with far reaching effects on the diplomatic model. • More involving and powerful Holy Roman Empire and Papacy options. • Special diplomatic options for Republics. • Set your National Focus in a province to enhance growth and strengthen your hold in the region. • Permanent Terra Incognita removed and replaced with impassable regions. • Cultural Tradition allows better advisors in the same way that Military Tradition allows better generals and admirals. • Spheres of Influence simulate the Great Game of the major powers. • More dynamic pirates. Issue letters of marque to plague the sea zones of rival nations. • Monarchs need to uphold their legitimacy in the eyes of their subjects • Many other additions and improvements. Divine Wind At the demand of the devout fanbase, this is the 4th expansion of the classic historical strategy game Europa Universalis III. Enhancing every aspect of the game to create an even deeper and more rewarding experience. Features New graphical style, with detailed and beautiful map, including lots of new provinces. Play as any of the four major daimyo’s in Japan and vie for influence over the Emperor and control over the Shogunate. Enhanced diplomacy, with more options for alliances and peace negotiation Dozens of new culture-specific types of buildings, where you have greater control over the development of your provinces. More realistic development of trade, with control over strategic resources giving bonuses. Manage the internal factions in China to keep the Mandate of Heaven. Over 50 Achievements for players to unlock. Chronicles Released on March 22, 2011, Europa Universalis III: Chronicles bundled all four expansions with the original game. This is the first time Heir to the Throne and Divine Wind are available in retail.[ [release][/release] [release][/release] [release][/release] http://store.steampowered.com/sub/7654/ http://store.steampowered.com/app/25800/ http://store.steampowered.com/app/25806/ http://store.steampowered.com/app/25808/ [release][/release] http://store.steampowered.com/app/25809/ http://store.steampowered.com/app/25810/ [release][/release] BEFORE DOWNLOADING ANY OF THESE BE AWARE THAT SOME MODS MIGHT REQUIRE THE LATEST 5.1 BETA PATCH FOR DIVINE WIND! Ohh I love this game. I remebert its simpel Al thouhg.
Ohh I love this game. I remebert its simpel Al thouhg.
Yep, though it is difficult to prevent rebels in my empire, mostly religious rebels show up in my empire.
I just started playing this again this week. It's a good game, so far in 20 years (Starting in 1470 as Castille) I've taken control of all of what is now Spain, a small part of southwestern modern France and am the sole colonist in the New World, controlling the southeast from Florida to roughly where Washington DC is now. I've never bothered buying the expansions because until this week I could never really get into it, usually preferring to play Hearts of Iron.
The graphics are amazing. They're even better than crysis. I don't think my computer can run it, it can hardly run doom.
I like this better than Europa Universalis II (especially with the Whole World mod), but my laptop only has a shitty integrated card which doesn't support Pixel Shader 2.
Burgundy is a hard nation to be. I managed to take over England, then France crushed me. Fucking french man.. I always wanted to get back into it just haven't taken the time yet.
I remember the subforum I made for Paradox Interactive / Europa III. No one posted. :( Great game, though it becomes painfully easy even with the Magna Mundi mod. It can stay fresh if you set goals for yourself like convert all of your provinces to a certain religion, etc...
So I need a mod. I mostly want something that makes the game longer and possibly makes it easier to colonize the new world.
So I need a mod. I mostly want something that makes the game longer and possibly makes it easier to colonize the new world.
Looks like you need "Whole World Mod". It expands the timline to 1918 and it gives acess to every province in the known world. Also, I love this game, and I've only played through In Nomine twice, the 400 year timeline takes forever to finish.
I love this game, and was expecting it to aid me in my downtime in college, but I can't seem to get it working on this laptop.
Hearts of Iron 3 is using a modified version of this engine I believe. I'd get EU but I'm saving for HOI3
Mbaey.
Update: I added some mods to the OP if you need some mods.
My friend told me this game was amazing, I downloaded the demo and I am going to try it out soon, and I might end up buying it on Steam.
Hearts of Iron 3 is using a modified version of this engine I believe. I'd get EU but I'm saving for HOI3
Hearts of Iron 3 is actually using a new engine created by Paradox Interactive. Hearts of Iron 2 uses the same engine, but HOI3's engine is much more advanced. Differences HOI2/EU3/Victoria Engine = Slightly more than 1,000 provinces(improved for more in EU3) HOI3 Engine = More than 10,000 provinces +improved graphics/features
You've got it wrong. EU3 uses a newer 3d-based engine while Victoria and HOI2 use the old sprite-based classic Europa engine.
When I read the HOI threads I thought of this one.
Can't you carry games over from this to Hearts of Iron II? I remember reading you could do that.
No it's in Victoria that you can convert games to HoI.
EU3 and HOI3 Both use the same engine Albeit HOI3's is modified
This looks cool, I might try this one day.
Actually is it harder then HOI? Maybe I can get into the series when I start with this game?
Rising Nations mod is awesome.
Actually is it harder then HOI? Maybe I can get into the series when I start with this game?
EU3 is pretty much the easiest Paradox game you can play to get you into it.
Actually is it harder then HOI? Maybe I can get into the series when I start with this game?
You may fail miserably the first time. However if you read the Wiki and learn to deal with inflation, war exhaustion, and reputation, then it should be quite easy to get into. [editline]05:52PM[/editline] Anywho, I've been working on a fantasy mod with an entirely new map. After many hours of hair-pulling I managed to work out a rough version of the map. Here is what's done so far. (Taken with the in-game utility)
But I thought Europa was a Moon? But Seriously, I Love the Europa series and am definatly getting this. Ignore the Edit I was just correcting a type :ninja:
Hahaha so funny EDIT: This game is preeetty awesome. Played with austria. You know, Arnold Schwarzenegger. I got like half of Europe and 1/3 of the todays USA, east coast. Need to play again EU3 is more Political I think. You can get pretty far without fighting. HOI is more.. you know... World War :keke:
I started playing this again with the whole world mod. It fixes the biggest problem I have with this game. I hate that permanent terra incognita. Great game.
So who's getting the new expansion pack?
