Hello and welcome to the first ever Facepunch Blazblue Megathread!

GAME SUMMARY:
Blazblue is a series of 2D fighting games developed by Arc System Works. The latest game, Continuum Shift II is already released on some fancy arcade system, but ports for the 3DS and the PSP will be released somewhere in Spring 2011. For now, we have Continuum Shift, which is already released for the PS3 and the 360. Don't bother with Calamity Trigger because no one plays that anymore.

STORY:
So one fine day this monster called the Black Beast was destroying everything and everyone for no apparent reason, so then 6 heroes came out the blue and fused up their magic with science to create the "Ars Magnus", which is used to defeat the Black Beast. After the war with the Black Beast a bunch of commies decided to create a government called the NOL to govern the use of the Ars Magnus, but later war broke out again because the evil, evil NOL is a bunch of no good commies, and the citizens didn't like that. The NOL won the war however, but later on generic protagonist no. 19384298420, AKA Ragna managed to single handedly defeat an entire NOL branch with nothing but a sword bigger that himself, probably because the NOL has gun accuracy best compared to that of a Storm Trooper, and so begins the adventures of generic protagonist no. 19384298420.

Which is the best character?
There is no defiant best character, think classes in TF2. But "competitive" players has made tier lists, which determines which character is the best in their eyes. You don't really need to follow them though, just play which character you feel that you have the best time playing.

I'm terrible at this game, any tips?
This game, like all fighting games has an uncomfortably steep learning curve. Use challenge and training mode to get moves and combos right if you're having trouble.

I'll have to disagree, Hakumen is a cheap bastard untill you get used to him. But then again, I was playing it for my first time as Noel and kept getting blown away, yet when i get to Nu and beat her first time.

Unless you mean Online, then Nu is a Cheap little Whore, zooming all over the place like if its Zone of the Enders or something. Particulary if its a Japanese Player. If so, your fucked.

I personally love BlazBlue, for the great story, very fun gameplay, and the damn funny humour.

I never play online, but only because whenever I do I get dominated by a guy playing Tager EVERY FUCKING TIME. But you can add me if you want.

I play on 360 as DanTheSasquatch, and whenever I go online, I usually play Noel.

Gotta' say, I love Blazblue, and I suck at fighting games. I think it's the unique nature of every character.

Personally, I main as Jin but I love Hazama. If I can get back to playing soon I'm going to try to improve my skill with him.

I'm obsessed with [del]the game[/del] Hazama (though my main is Jin, Haz is my sub~), I pretty much play CS every day and my boyfriend and I have matches on it all the time.
Also know a shit-ton about the story and spend most of my time on two BlazBlue based forums.

Yeah, at like 50% it's original speed. Maybe its been fixed up since that first PC version, but something tells me emulating the game is not going to give me good results ever.
