does anyone remember this flight star wars game for the ps2?

i remember it was really out there and had hardly any star wars feel to it, it must have been released at the beginning of the millennium because i can't seem to find it anywhere and the memories of it feel really old.

i think you were a merc, and it was definitely a flying game, maybe with some ground aspects to it but not an on foot aspect to it. it was a really unconventional star wars game, i don't even think it had the john williams style soundtrack. i really wish i could remember more, maybe there were ship upgrades or different ships you could earn or buy. i remember this one mission though, you had to destroy a convoy or base maybe. it was on a mars like planet except the ground was completely flat and the visibility was really low (reddish orange fog)

Rouge Squadron was a Nintendo Exclusive. Well the first one was on the PC.
