December 19th, 2011, a site arose. It was a site showing the Half-Life 3 emblem, with copyright information, Everything the Normal Valve site would have, right? Except one problem, the site was registered by a man named David Hassen with a foreign IP.
But wait, wasn't David Hassen one of the developers for Half-Life 1, as well as Portal 1? Indeed true. Which means that the site, while it seems shady, may in fact be the real deal. Isn't this type of sneaky right up Valve's alley? Using foreign IPs to reveal secrets, make you think it might be fake, might be real, Just like how they hide Half-Life hints in their other games like TF2, L4D, Alien Swarm, you name the game, they have something half-life related in it.
If you hover over the Half Life 3 symbol with your mouse, in Google Chrome it shows you a link to www.Half-life3.com ; currently that site redirects you to the original Orange Box site, which has nothing new on it. The only reason I could see for them making it redirect you would be if they were working on the site and they did not want anyone to see it until it was completely finished. Also, Gabe Newell, one of the founders of Valve Software, stated in an interview that we would see "an up coming title with the number three in it, next E3" Which makes you wonder even more if it's real or not.
One more thing to mention, Valve employees have been walking around with the same Half-Life symbol on their shirts also. Which also should make you even more excited since the symbol hasn't been released to the public, only pictures taken of the symbol.
If you raise the contrast of the symbol you'll see the Aperture Science Logo hidden inside of the Lambda Logo. Hinting of more plot twisting and twines between the Portal universe and the Half-Life universe.
So far it hasn't been disproven by Valve, and no one is talking about it that work at Valve. Let's hope for the best that this is real.
Here is a video I made in a few seconds because I like view whoring:
