As of yesterday, Jens Bergensten is the new lead developer on Minecraft. He will have the final say in all design decisions, so he will kinda sorta become my boss, I guess. I’ve promised him to not pull rank. ;)
We’ve been working together on Minecraft for a year now, and I’m amazed at how much in synch we two are when it comes to how to design the game. And when we don’t agree, we discuss it and something much better comes out at a result. He’s truly a great person to work with, and I feel very confident handing over the leadership of Minecraft to him.

Yes but now Jeb can release updates on time and not wait for Notch to get off one of his age long vacations to approve it.

I think if it would be necessary Jeb will still ask Notch for help, that is if Notch wouldn't be on a vacation that day.

I just think Notch is getting lazy not wanting to work much more with Minecraft :v:

Hopefully fewer idiotic updates and more complete updates that don't destroy more than they add.
Jeb seems like a hard working guy. Maybe he's good at planning too.
I think its more notch wants to focus on his shitty virtual card game more than MC while Jeb doesn't give a fuck about scrolls and prefers working on MC due to it being more creative.
This is a good thing.

I'm sorry but scrolls is basically solitaire crossed with yu-gi-oh and microtransactions slapped on top.
Its not a good concept to even work off, the only pro it has going for it is ~notch~.
