So the new xbox update is out if you haven't noticed. What do you think? Do you like the older one/s are better or does the new one seem to fit you style? Personally I like it. Seems a little more more organized besides the big fucking ad right smack in the middle of the Home tab.
the dashboard gets worse with every update to it classic dashboard for life!
Any USB download for it?
I hate it
Better than the previous two. Classic dashboard is still the best though.

I love the new dashboard update, its so sleek and fast.
A lot of these updates are just unnecessary. I loved the original one and even the 2nd one, with the blue background. I don't care how the dashboard looks because after all, I'm playing a game, not the dashboard.
Why do they keep changing it, the last one was great.
Was Cloud Storage added in this update? I just noticed it. Sweet, now I don't have to bring my USB drive everywhere. [editline]7th December 2011[/editline] Honestly I find the new update faster and easier to navigate then the old one, plus you get more information displayed to you.
If you update your phat xbox, you loose the ability to glitch it as the Dashboard CV gets edited to an unglitchable version. So bascially, if you plan to use the RGH, don't update or you won't be able to. Slim Xboxes are fine.
if you plan to use the RGH, don't update or you won't be able to.
whats RGH? Also, I love the new Roaming Profile feature! You no-longer have to 'recover' your gamer tag if you want to use your account on another X-Box. You just open the profile menu and use the farthest right option.

I've been hearing horror stories of people being unable to connect to Live after updating. Everything on the detection screen checks out, but the Xbox refuses to connect.
July 2005 and 33 posts You are indeed the lurker
I don't really post much at all, but im on here almost everyday :/
My Xbox won't connect, but I haven't updated yet either. It's a launch Xbox 20gb. Anyone else having this?
I think that the NXE dashboard (the one we just had before the update) was the best one. The first dashboard wasn't even as good as everyone says.
If you can't connect then go to the website and accept the new ToS.

Only issue I have since updating is when I start Halo Anniversary is disconnects me from live and I can't reconnect. Doesn't happen with any other game
the dashboard gets worse with every update to it classic dashboard for life!
Can you still play your games?
Original blade design 4 lyfe

The only thing I like about this update is I can control my entire xbox using the Kinect now.

Reminds me of the Playstation dashboard. I liked the previous one better.
They're adding Youtube to this update soon. It's about time
This dashboard feels much faster and much more responsive than the other one. I like it.
This needed a thread :downs:
I had to update my xbox because some chinese guy hacked into my account from xbox.com and bought $200 worth of MS points, and customer service made me turn on my console (first time since summer) to get my info. The new dashboard is terrible. The main screen is dominated by an add, with a small button for "play game now" Why is my console a billboard?
Reminds me of the Playstation dashboard. I liked the previous one better.
God damn, every single time they change the dashboard, you lot seem to manage to compare it to the XMB, saying they are "similar". They are nothing alike, the new dashboard is based off the Metro UI initiative MS are pushing for all their OS's right now. It looks nothing like the XMB, the layout is nowhere near the same, the closest that MS has come to the XMB would be the NXE as that had the full up/down - left/right only scrolling system the XMB uses. The Metro dashboard is based off a grid system with categories. Big difference. Plus, MS wouldn't change the UI if it proved detrimental to the user experience, they have tested the ever-loving shit out of Metro, and it does actually function better than most UIs they have made in recent history for quick navigation and simplicity (something a console UI wants).
