My long running project, Destination Hostile Volume 1 is finally open for testing sign up. The mod still has a lot left to do, but I'm opening beta access sign up anyway. Everyone who is on the testing team will get an individual credit at the end, and the start, of the mod. The sign up thread can be found here: http://forum.elitetreacle.info/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=5&p=5 (sorry for the plug, but I prefer to keep everything in one place if that is alright with you guys) To sign up for beta testing of Destination Hostile: Volume One: Testing Requirements: Portal (Steam) A Mac OS X or Windows Computer Around 2GB of HDD Space (The final mod will not be this size, but the development version is kinda bloated) A middlingly decent internet connection Testing Responsibilities: Give feedback on every map (Excluding the Museum maps) Play each map in depth several times, searching for bugs Attempt the game without any console commands at least once Never share any of the pre-release files with anyone If you do not post any feedback for 5 days (after a major release) you will be removed from the QA Team. How to sign up: Its simple! Could we have some information on the mod itself?
No media? No info? I want to know what this is before I even think about testing it.
I am not a fan of the name, and that's all I know about this mod so far. Give us some more info on the mod itself, please.
The name itself is also completely uninformative, and why the hell is he setting hardware requirements? Who can't run Source? It's apparently a Portal mod (based on the requirements) and it's name doesn't give me much hope for it as a Portal mod. At least two gigs? What is this, the 90s or 80s? Who doesn't have two gigs? So it's multiplayer based on the internet connection requirement, but why? What "museum maps?" What the hell are we doing? How could I be posting this right now without an Internet connection? Fuck, no thought in this OP at all

Fuck, no thought in this OP at all
1: The reason for the system requirements is that it currently relies on use of Projected Textures and expensive water. 2: Who doesn't have two gigs? People running off a small Solid State Drive might not. 3: Its not really hard to understand, if you are running of dialup, which some people are, then this is not for you. Plus, me being from the UK, internet speeds are awful in many places. Hell, even up the road from me has an applauding connection. 4: Museum maps will be explained if you join up. Its something you don't have to do, so why are you concerned? 5: You don't have to have a reasonable connection to post on a forum. I simply see it as common courtesy to post exactly what you need.
Looks interesting. I'll keep an eye on this.
