Apparently there was no general Soul Calibur thread, so uh, I thought I'd make one. I should probably make a proper OP but whatever. Until then, yeah, Soul Calibur V came out today! Seems pretty fun, played 5 or 6 rounds. Gameplay hasn't changed much, but the "finisher" moves from SCIV seem to be better implemented this time around.
The game also takes place in 1607, which is apparently a long enough time for most of the tried and true characters to die and be replaced by what are essentially clones. Siegfried, Nightmare, Mitsurugi, Ivy, Cervantes, Raphael, and Voldo all return (and technically Yoshimitsu, but he's "Yoshimitsu the Second"), while everyone else has been replaced by newer versions. For example, Taki is now a younger blonde chick named Natsu. Seems to have the same general style of play, daggers etc.

Loved playing as Nightmare, however I found Maxi very easy to play, spamming buttons and chaining moves was easy for him, so I used him more often. Looking forward to SC V.
Nightmare/Siegfred was my main. Too many Kiliks and Maxi's in MP.
