Delivering the definitive gaming experience for Sonic fans old and new, Sonic Generations sees Sonic the Hedgehog playable as both the much loved classic 1991 character, and the modern day video game hero he has become in this exciting new fast paced adventure. Sonic Generations will speed into stores for the Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system from Microsoft and PlayStation3 computer entertainment system for Holiday 2011. Set across three defining eras from 20 years of Sonic the Hedgehog video game history, the instantly recognizable environments of Sonic Generations have been re-built in stunning HD and are now playable in both classic side scrolling 2D from 1991, as well as modern 3D style found in Sonic’s most recent adventures. Each incarnation of Sonic in Sonic Generations comes complete with his trademark special move, Spin Dash and Spin Attack for Classic Sonic, and the Homing Attack and Sonic Boost for Modern Sonic. An innovative new interactive menu system allows for complete immersion in Sonic’s universe with favorite characters and hidden treasures gradually being revealed throughout the game. “Sonic Generations will certainly be a fitting celebration for Sonic’s 20th Anniversary,” commented David Corless, Global Brand Director for Sonic. “By having the classic 1991 Sonic that many fans know and love team up with his modern day incarnation, we are bringing back the nostalgia of the early days of Sonic and combining it with the innovation and stunning HD technology of the modern gaming era. Sonic Generations will bring to life the last twenty years of Sonic’s universe in a truly unique and imaginative way.” Sonic’s universe is thrown into chaos when a mysterious new power creates ‘time holes’ which pull him and his friends back through time. As a result, he encounters some surprises from his past history including Classic Sonic, Sonic as he was in 1991. Modern Sonic and Classic Sonic must defeat this strange new enemy, save their friends, and find out who really is behind this diabolical deed…
[img_thumb]http://www.sonicstadium.org/wp-content/uploads/2011/04/screenshot_252416.jpg[/img_thumb] [img_thumb]http://www.sonicstadium.org/wp-content/uploads/2011/04/screenshot_252412.jpg[/img_thumb] [img_thumb]http://www.sonicstadium.org/wp-content/uploads/2011/04/screenshot_252409.jpg[/img_thumb] [img_thumb]http://www.sonicstadium.org/wp-content/uploads/2011/04/screenshot_252414.jpg[/img_thumb] [img_thumb]http://www.sonicstadium.org/wp-content/uploads/2011/04/screenshot_252419.jpg[/img_thumb] [img_thumb]http://www.sonicstadium.org/wp-content/uploads/2011/04/screenshot_252430.jpg[/img_thumb] [img_thumb]http://www.sonicstadium.org/wp-content/uploads/2011/04/screenshot_252413.jpg[/img_thumb] [img_thumb]http://www.sonicstadium.org/wp-content/uploads/2011/04/screenshot_252411.jpg[/img_thumb] [img_thumb]http://www.sonicstadium.org/wp-content/uploads/2011/04/screenshot_252418.jpg[/img_thumb] [img_thumb]http://www.sonicstadium.org/wp-content/uploads/2011/04/screenshot_252417.jpg[/img_thumb] [img_thumb]http://www.sonicstadium.org/wp-content/uploads/2011/04/screenshot_252410.jpg[/img_thumb] [img_thumb]http://www.sonicstadium.org/wp-content/uploads/2011/04/screenshot_252415.jpg[/img_thumb]
TRAILERS
It's like, the first time they acknowledged the old Sonic design in so fucking long. I hope this will be good.
I hope to god it's like A bunch of sonic games remade and HD-ized (INCLUDING SONIC ADVENTURE 2) into one huge pack but i will probably be wrong. Also thread music: For 90's sonic fans For guys who like Early 2000's sonic:
Necesary: I dunno I am bored with re-releases of all the old sonics. I played them on the mega drive, game gear, ps3 etc.

Does this one have Chao's? Because I'm not playing a Sonic game until it includes Chao's.
What happened to that 2D game they were making?

Sonic's annoying younger brother.
Sonic's annoying younger brother.
You mean the one on the right, of course
Does this one have Chao's? Because I'm not playing a Sonic game until it includes Chao's.
Well then you won't be playing this one, the AI director of Chao gardens quit long ago and SEGA has no intention of hiring another one [editline]14th April 2011[/editline] i swear every sonic thread on this forum I have to say this
You mean the one on the right, of course
I'm pretty sure that's what he meant.
i swear every sonic thread on this forum I have to say this
It's probably because every Sonic thread I see, I post asking if there will be Chao's.
Chaos are fucking vital to every sonic game. I want to be able to make a half moose half penguin baby alien thing then race it against some other mutated alien bitches
I totally agree with Extra Credits' assertion of the Sonic franchise; he needs to take a 4 year+ break. So that when there's a reboot, they'll have had time to get it right, and we'll have actually had time to miss the lil' guy.
I'd rather just play Sonic 3 thanks.
I'd rather just play Sonic 3 thanks.
Pfft, Sonic CD was the best 2D Sonic game.
No, sorry, but It's getting pretty sickening to see sonic's nipples get milked to it's last drop. I'm pretty pissed right now because I want this to be a legit game for once.
My chao in sonic advance has been a child for 5 or 6 years. Wat do? Also, I heard the sonic industry was pretty gutted. Guess they're tryign to revive it by, literally, going back to the old games.
No, sorry, but It's getting pretty sickening to see sonic's nipples get milked to it's last drop. I'm pretty pissed right now because I want this to be a legit game for once.
Colours was pretty fun, so the series isn't nearly as bad as it was for a long ass time. I hope this game feels more 'full' for lack of a better word. In Sonic adventure 1 and 2 there were extra challenges and hidden secrets in many places and the Chao Garden made me play it longer than I probably should have. Plus I do prefer the Adventure style level navigation over Colours, but considering we have old school sonic here we could have some decent platforming to go with speed. So I'm optimistic. The SEGA logo made me smile.
I always considered the possibility that the new Sonic and old Sonic were around the same size. Apparently Old Sonic's a midget in comparison, though. :saddowns:
Pfft, Sonic CD was the best 2D Sonic game.
Sonic CD had the best gameplay of any sonic game ever made I played Sonic 3 and knuckles more only because sonic cd is broken on any windows system other then 95 so I couldnt play it
Sonic CD had the best gameplay of any sonic game ever made I played Sonic 3 and knuckles more only because sonic cd is broken on any windows system other then 95 so I couldnt play it
There is a fix for that.
There is a fix for that.
I didn't know that when I was 5.
