It is an action/stealth game, depending on how you play it. It was inspired by games as Thief, Deus Ex, Bioshock and System shock, and it can be seen by ingame elements. You play as the empress' bodygaurd, Corvo Attano. When the empress gets killed you get the blame, you get send to prison and spend 6 months there, after you break out you meet Sameul the bootman, and get brought to the Hound Pits pub where you meet the other loyalists to restore your honour. Did the other thread get locked? Huh, didn't notice that.
It didn't, but the OP was outdated and the thread we pretty much dead.
I am interested in getting this game, since it was made by the guys who made Dark Messiah. How much like Thief (or Dark Messiah for that matter) is this game?
I can't say because I haven't play Thief nor Dark Messiah, but I'd advise to get it when it's on sale, as it isn't worth the full 60 dollars.

I think it's worth putting it by the Brigmore Witches mention in the OP. Also clarifying on DLC: There are two on the way; one focuses on Daud and another hasn't had its details revealed.
From my experience of thief 2, imagine stealth but not having to crawl along the floor at a snail's pace. From my seeing of Dark Messiah gameplay, it's like that but with not as many spells and environment hazards

Anyone got any extra information about the Daud DLC? Also is Dunwall City Trials worth getting?
My post of the new screenshot in the old thread is getting rated funny for some reason :v:
Well shame on me for not seeing that Dudder bumped the old thread.
Well shame on me for not seeing that Dudder bumped the old thread.
Well, that's what locked it. This thread is the only one now.
Shame on me for not seeing that it's locked. Should I add anything to the OP?
Can't wait for the new DLC
And we with the RHCP version of the game can only dream about the upcoming DLC. Thanks Bethesda.

Fuck I can't wait for the new DLC
Got a PM about the new DLC, most of you already knew but you should still have it: http://www.allgamesbeta.com/2013/03/...oull-play.html
Here are some more pictures of the DLC. [t]http://cdn3.sbnation.com/entry_photo_images/7852257/dishonored-knife-of-dunwall-rothwild_1600.jpg[/t] [t]http://cdn1.sbnation.com/entry_photo_images/7852251/dishonored-knife-of-dunwall-whale-carcass_1600.jpg[/t]
What is the next dlc going to be about?
I tried really hard to get into this game but I gave up rather soon. For a sandbox game it feels way too restrictive because you are getting constantly punished for acting violently, rather than rewarded to acting stealthily.

I should bother to finish this some day, I played till the mission with the party or with some ministry building, can't remember which. The game just felt so easy and the nonlethal options so limited I just lost interest. The setting was kinda interesting though, too bad it was all hidden in books and I usually don't bother reading books in games unless it's Deus Ex.
How is Dishonered a sandbox game?
You are given a goal and a ton of ways to do it. For me it fits the sandbox game category, like deus ex and such. The game forces you to go non-lethal if you don't want to have the worst endings and consequences imaginable, but actually doing non-lethal stuff involves very limited options.
Well, you're right non-lethal is far more rewarded than lethal actions. But a lethal approach takes a lot less time and is more rewarding at first because you don't have to find incoveniant paths or other ways to complete your goals.

Just beat the game the other day, I have to say This and Max Payne 3 are my GOTY's for 2012.
Damn I really have to finish this game. I'm like 1/3 in the game at the moment. By the way anyone else who dislikes the default FOV? I recently increased it and now I'm happeh.
