I have played all of Frictional Games' games, Fear series (3rd one was poop), Condemned, Fatal Frame, Silent Hill (2nd is favorite game of all times), Afraid of Monsters, everything. Does anyone know an extremely scary PC title I am extremely desperate. (User was banned for this post ("Post your, again" - Orkel))
System Shock 2 was called scary quite a few times.
No console emulators?
No console emulators?
I played the Fatal Frame games with pscsexsxex 2 which emulated them perfectly. So you're free to post those
System Shock 2 was called scary quite a few times.
Ooh, I might just do that. I forgot about it. Even though it doesn't look all that scary
Call of Cthulhu was scary every now and then. It can get pretty buggy though.
Call of Cthulhu was scary every now and then. It can get pretty buggy though.
Oh, that's one of my favorite games for sure. I've played through it at least 3 times
If you can fetch a PSX emu which don't require a powerful computer, try LSD Dream simulator. It creeps people out.
The first thing that came to mind was Amnesia, but since you've played it maybe if you can run a PS2 emulator the Fatal Frame series maybe?
He's already done the Fatal Frame series, but I second System Shock 2. Great game.
Shit, I misread that, let me see if I can dig up something from my old stash, better yet if I can even find my old stash.
Downloading System Shock 2, in the meanwhile I'm open to any other suggestions.
Cryostasis maybe?
You could always download some amnesia the dark descent custom stories and play them, some of them are pretty good and are actually quite scary.
Cryostasis maybe?
Only the first half, then it's like playing Fear.
Cryostasis maybe?
Oh yeah, I'll give it a shot.
Fucking Clock Tower for the PSX.
try the hl2 mods korsakovia and nightmare house.
I think after playing the penumbras, you'll struggle to find anything better
I think after playing the penumbras, you'll struggle to find anything better
i saw that!
Try out Dead Space 1 and 2 maybe?
Nightmare House is pretty decent. The second one is a better mod, but less scary. Also, you could try "Underhell" - mod for Half Life 2. It is a little bit like fear, and the second episode coming out soon looks really good. (Only the prologue has been released - has about 4-5 hours of gameplay in it). Another mod to try might be "The Worry of Newport" for Crysis. Scares the crap out of me, but I'm terrified of water, which this has a lot of.
If you have Half-Life play the mod Afraid of Monsters: Director's Cut Then wait 1 month for Cry of Fear, another HL1 horror mod
Penumbra. I believe they have three games in the series and it is scary.
Penumbra. Still haven't finished overture, only black plague. :v:
You could always download some amnesia the dark descent custom stories and play them, some of them are pretty good and are actually quite scary.
White Night is really good
Lost the savegame and then i couldn't be arsed to start over.
It's like one hour long in a proper walkthrough if you know all the stuff already. I've finished it at least 6 times
I think you've pretty much hit the big hitters. System Shock 2 is all that's left, but its more or less a "psychological thriller scary" than "reergghhhh TERROR MONSTERS" type scary. I still can't beat it though past MedSci because I'm too scared :v: or at least was. Scary games have less of an effect on me now.
Painkiller almost made me shit myself, especially the first and last levels. The expansion pack had some pretty scary moments too, namely the foster home level. But don't get me wrong, it's not a proper horror game.
