Well during a steam conversation about the Half-life franchise I had come up with a theory regarding the existence of the Half-life character G-Man.

Please note that this was just a theory, and understand that I do in fact have full knowledge of the Half-life series, since I have played and beaten every game in its franchise and beaten them.
Please don't bash the theory or the game until you have a wide understanding of it. If you havent played and beaten Half-life 1 and Half-life 2, and Op4, this theory may not make sense to you, but then again, this is a theory to the best of MY knowledge, so if you know as much as me, Great!
On to the Theory:
So at the end of HL1 you hear Nilianth say these lines " You are man...He is not Man... for He deceives you...the truth you can never know" Indicating that G-Man is not human(He is obviously talking about G-Man). Now, this become a major Key.
Listen carefully at the very end G-Man says "The border world Xen is our under control, thanks to you”. There 2 parts to what he said
1. The combine are under control of Xen that was proven by Dr. Breen if you keep listening to what he says on the broadcast in HL2.
2. He says Thanks to you! Because since Freeman killed Nilianth no one is stopping the Combine from taking control of Xen.
Which is why the Xenian beings were slaves, and under there control, and is why Nilianth was not infact evil, the Xen were forced to do what the Combine wanted them to do.
Which pushes the theory farther, as to he says that he has “employers" so that G-Man in fact is under control from other beings. But well get back to that
Again Nilianth said that "He is not Man, you are man... "For he deceives you"
This comes to the most chilling fact.
Gordon Freeman has been a puppet of G-Man, why G-man spies on Gordon freeman is a piece of the puzzle, Because he will get Gordon to do things, Like "go to white forest" where Alex's father then died there. G-Man is deceiving Gordon.
After the portal was destroyed and then right before that happened he said to Alyx “Relay these words to your father, Prepare for unforeseen consequences" Then Eli dies at the combines hand.
Also, Dr. Breen knows about G-Man
Because he said this about him: ...and this one has proven to be a fine pawn for those who control him, your mentors are partly to blame, however my disappointment towards Eli Vance and Dr Kliener are far greater than my sorrow of your unfortunate choice of career path, in a way I suppose you could not have done otherwise". He is saying that the G-Man is controlled by something else.
As you can see G-Man has his ways of getting what he wants, and serving his "employers" , he gets Gordon to do things for him, because Gordon is a skilled fighter and therefore can do G-Mans dirty work: that’s why he said “you’ve proved yourself to be a decisive man".But the sad thing is, is that Gordon doesn’t know this, he trusts G-Man and does what ever G-Man makes him do, and he lies about how he wishes he could do more than just watch, but he had to abide by certain restrictions, again his “employers” have obviously got G-man under control.
Gordon has only made it easier for the combine to accomplish the success in some ways… But it’s not his fault, G-man was controlling Gordon.
G-Man knows, He knows he won’t die, because he doesn’t And He has one more tool, Adrian Sheppard, Still locked outside of time.
Now! If you didn't get it or got frustrated over it, take a deep breath and ask me a few questions, I will answer them all.
If you didn't like my poor grammar or thought this was to complex, watch this video of same theory(not my video) :

Or..
Maybe stop trying to develop deep convoluted theories about G-man and maybe accept that the writers just intended for him to be an enigmatic figure and that they haven't written a deep character.
G-man is supposed to be God, just look at the name.
G-man is supposed to be God, just look at the name.
God Man?
Wouldn't that make him Jesus?
Will anyone just understand there is no concept for gman, Not even valve has one, If the creators of gman doesn't have a story he doesn't have one!
gman is a reptilian
Will anyone just understand there is no concept for gman, Not even valve has one, If the creators of gman doesn't have a story he doesn't have one!
Of course he does, having a suspenseful build up of the of clues towards the Characters meaning is a great idea, and is just like valve, to make us wait a long time for something big, and when it happens, it was worth the wait.
You obviously haven't been playing HL a lot, there are constantly clues of purpose, and every installment we come closer and closer to realizing his purpose, you can't doubt that he is a character that has a major purpose in the game, and is waiting to be unveiled.
gman is a reptilian
Yea! I love reptilian conspiracies, lol.
Episode 3 is going to end with Gman walking up to the player and saying
Hi my name is gabe newell i hope you enjoyed are game if you have any comments feel free to email me at gaben@valvesoftware.com
Interesting theory.
gman is a reptilian
from the 4th dimension
ITT people who didn't even read the first post in need to flame first, FACT.
However, GMan theory's are retarded. Get out. :v:
No, Gman sails away in a dingy while the Borealis blows up to stop the adviser while Gordan and everyone else gets blown to smithereens and gets sunk to the bottom of the Atlantic.

Dude, I had a good laugh. XD.
I shall quote myself from several months ago.
The Gman is VALVe.
Or at least, a representative of VALVe.
Think about it. He follows you wherever you go, watching your every move. Why? Because it's his world. His game. At the end of Half-Life, he basically says "Congratulations, you have won the game. My employers (VALVe) are impressed. Sit tight until the next game." At the beginning of Half-Life 2, he's like "Hey, wake up. Half-Life 2 is released now. Get out there and kick ass." Again, he follows you to see how you are doing. You may even catch him prompting an npc (Odessa) to follow his script. At the end, he shows up and says "Hey, you've beaten the game again! Keep buying these games, and we'll continue to make them. Btw, the ending sucks, I know. But all this confusing shit will make sense eventually. Cya." At the beginning of episode 1, he shows up to delay the game again, only to be stopped by fans and the general public, and he's like "Fine, dammit, play a little longer". In episode 2, he shows up while Alyx is being healed and says "Yeah, I'm/we're back. About time we got to this sequence. Anyway, Alyx made it out of Black Mesa because we said so. We have noticed that, throughout the course of the series, she has really developed as a character, so we decided to give her a new role. Your objective is to take her to White Forest so she can use her 'prepare for unforseen consequences' line. I can't help you because it wouldn't be much of a game if I did. See ya." When you get to White Forest, during the Borealis conversation, Gman shows up on screen to remind her to use her line. She uses it and Eli is like "Oh my god, I can't believe those bastards at VALVe just made that reference to Half-Life. And why did I even agree to do this shit anyway?" This is because Eli is one of the few characters who knows that he is in a video game. The Gman/VALVe notices this little anomaly and has him killed at the end of the game.
So yeah.
We don't know what the G-man is, all we know is that he controlls Gordon, and somehting far greater controls G-man.
It's a weather balloon.
It's that floating blob in Alaska.
Valve is using the magic sword. They have no real idea what g-man is, but they're using all the fans to come up with their ideas for them, and if they do use the idea of one of fans, the fan will just say "I knew it!" when it fact they just copied his idea.
Of course he does, having a suspenseful build up of the of clues towards the Characters meaning is a great idea, and is just like valve, to make us wait a long time for something big, and when it happens, it was worth the wait.

Valve have repeatedly said That GMan Has no story!
[editline]06:53PM[/editline]
Though this theory is better than others (gordon freeman is gman ARGH!)
Or..

No we must make thoeries and ignore that there's still games to be made that should fill plot gaps in!
It's the Bloop.
I shall quote myself from several months ago.
This one is indeed much better
Why do people think their gman theories deserve a thread ?
Maybe he's just a Government Man ?
Why do people think their gman theories deserve a thread ?
Because some people are really retarded and are dumb as fuck.
[editline]09:25AM[/editline]

You're Gman?
nope
but I'm sure that Gabe knows who is g-man
I'm surprised you're taking the Nihilanth literally for something that makes up a complex theory.
