Team Fortress 2 Background Problem

Hi guys,

Sorry to ask a nooby question but I was wondering if anyone could help me, I have been trying to set a custom background for my TF2's main menu like you would do in CSS and DODS etc. except it is not working...

After converting the file to .vtf (the file is the correct dimensions etc) I take the following steps:

Rename the file to: background01.vtf (have tried with background01_widescreen.vtf)

Place file in: \team fortress 2\tf\materials\console\

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

You've got to make 4 copies of the background and name them "background_2fort", "background_gravelpit", "background_upward", and "title_fullmoon". It would probably be a good idea to also make widescreen variants by adding "_widescreen" after each name.
