I've only played it for around 5 hours, and by now I've gotten good enough to at least fly around and do space-janitorial work.
Trading commodities while sneaking past hostile forces, racing the best pilots in the area, mining for diamonds, negotiating for survival, spying for a curious energy company, cleaning dirty solar arrays, transporting an impatient passenger... and that's just on a Monday. The life of an independent mercenary is rarely without excitement. At times, you may choose to work under contract, while at others, you may want to take matters into your own hands in a quest to build your reputation and fortune. Your spacecraft awaits. Your adventure begins in the Sapphire solar system. In Evochron, you are free to seek your fortune as an independent mercenary in an adventure directed by your choices, abilities, and accomplishments. Each player can bring their unique skills and interests to the game, forming clans for cooperative goals or remaining solo to complete objectives on their own in true freeform space-sim gameplay.
I play on the Xanadu server or whatever its called. My friend from Korea also plays with me there and it has good pings. Join up! Also vets in game are REALLY nice and will answer questions, just be polite! Warning, this game is HARD to learn. After 5 hours I sort of feel like I know what Im doing, but I haven't gotten into combat yet. if you want to be in the facepunch clan, you MUST have [FP] before your pilot name (example [FP]Dudeguy) Here is a very useful resource http://www.starwraith.com/evochronmercenary/universe.htm It's 25 dollars on steam right now, but the game offers many many hours of space grinding adventures. I would like to play with some of you, so if you have the itching for a space sim, you should look into it. Also, I will try to improve this post over time, I don't really make many threads but I really wanted to get this game out there! Tips from Glitchy 1. F1 is your friend. use this to say waypoints and jump. This universe is HUGE. Trying to fly somewhere far away or do normal jumps will take HOURS. 2. Fuel runs out quickly. Do contracts and make sure you always have a full tank before going out. 3. When you fly towards a planet, don't go in too fast. Follow the little HUG guides it gives you. I've blown up a lot trying to go into atmospheres. 4. do the training missions and read online documentations this is important because I can't help all you guys learn to play because I'm a noob myself.
There's already a thread, on page 2.... http://www.facepunch.com/threads/1107773
