• Trying to find an old RTS

Hey guys, I'm looking for an old RTS game. I'm 99 percent sure it was a PC game. It had a mechanic where if your unit got a certain amount of kills it would progress or level up. I remember one unit, a skeleton archer or warrior, that when it leveled it became a "gold" unit or had gold armor.. I know it's really vague sorry, but I'm reaching out because someone may recognize it right away. Cheers
Plenty of games fit that criteria, but I'm thinking Majesty might be what you're looking for.
Warlords Battlecry maybe? There's quite a bunch of factions in that game and there's a few skeletons units in the undead faction. Units can level up via kills, and they also change appearance once they level up, there's also a skeleton knight in there that has a helmet and turns into gold, iirc called a Doom Knight. It's an oldish RTS series, the latest with III released in 2004, and the earlier games released in 1999. There's also the Myth games, which is an RTS with no base building or resource gathering, just a bunch of units and they level up via kills as well. Once again skeleton warriors abound. And while perhaps definitely not the game you're looking for, there's an RTS called S.W.I.N.E. where every unit levels up via kills, and each time they level up they'll get stronger and have a large change in apperance as well, including battle worn stuff and gold decorations.
SWINE was fucking awesome, pity the later games in the dev's catalogue are garbage
Sounds familiar. Any other details you can think of?
Total Annihilation: Kingdoms, maybe? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ra7bO5gb2V
Only things I can think of that sound close to this are Myth and Dungeon Keeper. Probably not the game you're looking for but figured I'd try.
Is it Majesty?
Although Majesty doesn't have skeleton heroes on your side.
Armies of Exigo? Not really that old, but I think it had something along those lines.
