[b][u]Roles[/u][/b]
The roles in Dawngate change the way you acquire [b]vim[/b] (gold). The four roles are:
[i]Gladiator[/i]: When you kill lane minions you gain stacking bonus vim. The bonus increases by 2 for every consecutive minion killed with 10 seconds up to a maximum of 30 additional vim per minion. (Max stacks: 15)
[i]Tactician[/i]: The vim gained for being near lane minions when they die is increased to 150% of normal. You gain bonus vim when you damage an enemy shaper (15 vim for ranged attacks and 30 vim for melee attacks). This effect has a 5 second cooldown.
[i]Hunter[/i]: You do 10% more damage to jungle creatures. When you kill a jungle creature, you will heal for 5% of the creature's maximum Health. When you kill a jungle creature there is a 25% chance you will gain 30 bonus vim.
[i]Predator[/i]: When you score a kill or assist on an enemy shaper you will gain 100 bonus vim. The experience gained for a kill or assist on an enemy shaper is increased to 130% of normal. The vim gained for killing spirit well workers is increased to 200% of normal.
[b][u]Spirit Wells[/u][/b]
Spirit Wells are a way for your team to passively gain vim over the course of the match. At 10 minutes into the game, the Spirit Wells unlock and you'll be able to capture the enemy's spirit well for increased vim generation. If you don't think you have enough time to capture the Spirit Well, try to kill as many workers as you can to sabotage the enemy's spirit well.
[b][u]Bindings[/u][/b]
Bindings are the turrets in Dawngate. Once you destroy a Binding, your Striders (a type of minion) will get stronger. Bindings regenerate after they are destroyed.
[b][u]The Map[/u][/b]

[b][u]Loadouts[/u][/b]
These are like runes and masteries in League of Legends. You sort of have to build the spirit stone pieces (the runes) together into a big square, like a puzzle. Then you need to fill the sockets for each spirit stone with sparks in order for their bonuses to activate.

[b]Is there a denial mechanic?[/b]
We do not have a denial mechanic. In our mind, deny satisfies 2 gameplay goals: provide an additional second-to-second activity in laning to exhibit high skill, and provide a way to harass an enemy's economy. To satisfy these two goals, we instead focused on introducing new second-to-second lane mechanics with our role system (Tactician harass, Gladiator combos) and economy suppression through Spirit Well worker harass.

Servers come online Thursday and shutdown on Sunday unless stated otherwise.

Ever notice how the next big thing always gets blown out of proportion so much that the market gets flooded with copies of that game? To the point where there just isn't any reason to move on to newer ones because they don't offer anything new or exciting.
Dota 2 and LoL are just Dota with new visuals and one or two mechanics that are hardly worth getting excited over. Mobas, in my opinion, were good when they were free user created maps on starcraft and warcraft (and any other game that may have had these types of games). To me they just aren't worth the time to be made into independent titles. I feel big companies ruined this genre.
unfortunately it doesn't look like this game has anything to offer that the established MOBAs don't have
The map looks cool which is why I want to try it.
The game has some interesting character mechanics not seen in LoL or Dota2. Its far from being good, due to its lack of balancing and polish, but I definitely think this can be something fun.

I occasionally jump on, but I can't bring myself to play any matches. Looks nice though.
I play this like once or twice a week.
The newly added "rune" crafting system is putting me off.
The end of game reward screen also takes it's time to actually give you a reward.

I'm an avid league player as well and I definitely enjoy this. It takes some time getting used to and they better damn well make sure they work on movement but other than that it's pretty solid.
I play Call of Duty so I feel really out of place.
Anyone have an extra key? I want to get my friends to play but I've only recieved the one for myself.
If I can i'm gonna try and get keys to giveaway :)

Anyways, I was hoping they would extend the test this weekend for MLK day. I can't wait for them to release 24/7 servers.
So I played around a bit with Faris, King of Masks and Sexy Zeus for awhile and those guys are pretty fun.
Although I'm unsure of what the current "meta" is for this game. I assume it's 2 - 1 - 1? Two people in one lane, a soloer and a jungler?
