Intro: I have always been a TimeSplitters fan and I am pretty sure some of you know me as a hardcore fan and that it's pretty much all I care for in gaming. I started work on a TimeSplitters mod for UT2004 that I have now completed, it features all of the maps from TS2 and all of the characters from TS2 and TS3. I made the mod at first for me and a friend to be able to play online seeing as I moved away awhile back. We grew up with this game and I thought it'd be great to play the game again with all the characters and maps combined into one. So when I was half way through I decided to take a shot and ask Crytek UK if I was able to release this game to the public, but it was a no go. Understandable seeing as it was for the Unreal engine, CryEngines main competitor. Instead the employee I was talking too gave me a new plan, and that was to make a TimeSplitters game on the CryEngine, I argued with him at first that maybe the engine would not be suitable for the gameplay ( cheeky I know ). But the opportunity was there and so I took it by the balls. I recruited a large chunk of modders through the 100k Strong for TimeSplitters 4 Facebook group I run and told the employee over at Crytek UK that I was willing to do this. Most of the team that we are working with have worked in the industry before or are just plain talented as hell. We have around over 26 people working on this, assets are being pumped out and all kinds of neat stuff is being made! below I will share with you some stuff. We have even had Ben Newman ( the concept artist behind TimeSplitters ) write an article about our project and we have even had the chance to talk to them : Link: vachyre (3D Character Artist): http://bennewmanart.blogspot.co.uk/2013/04/timesplitters-rewind.html"]http://bennewmanart.blogspot.co.uk/2013/04/timesplitters-rewind.html The idea is to basically recreate the best parts of TimeSplitters 1 2 and ofcourse future perfect, and then combine them into one game. So that would be the best maps from the series, a wide range of characters, and all of the guns ( that are not clone updates ). We are keeping the gameplay exactly the same, no jump, no footsteps, no fall-damage and no ironsights. It's going to be pure TimeSplitters the way you remember it, just with a HD overcoat. I hope you like what you see!
Yes, Jo-Beth's boobies are kept large. :D
Yes, Jo-Beth's boobies are kept large. :D
After half a day of silence, this is literally the first and only reply. I'm not sure what to say. Sounds fucking sweet though! TS2 and FP are a huge part of my childhood multiplayer memories
Awww yiss, motha fuckin TimeSplitters I really hope this get's finished, Good luck with the project. How exactly is it going to play, may i ask? Goldeneye style TS2 or more like Future Perfect?
After half a day of silence, this is literally the first and only reply. I'm not sure what to say.
I couldn't think of anything else to say, you've pretty much said what I was going to say aswell.
I couldn't think of anything else to say, you've pretty much said what I was going to say aswell.
Just kidding mate :v:
Anyway on a serious note, I'm liking what I'm seeing so far, can't wait to see how you do the Map Editor though. Wasn't the Soviet Rifle more like a Galil than what looks like an AK?
I cannot wait to play the campaign again, if it is going to be re-made. Also, I hope he does experiment with the maps a little more, like what he did the waterfall.

So it remakes TS1,2 and 3? Or is it some kind of "best of compilation"?
So it remakes TS1,2 and 3? Or is it some kind of "best of compilation"?
I am personally hoping for an entire 1, 2 + 3 in terms of weapons/maps but that is too much, not to mention campaigns as well. I personally would prefer them to completely re-create 1 or 2 (as they are all I played) and allow modders to help create content from the other games as an on-going project.
This looks great. Is there anywhere more official than here that I can follow the progress of it?
Something about that soviet rifle has a bit of a cartoony TF2 vibe. Will we be seeing this in the game/ mod or will it still be realistic looking?
So I take it this is a multiplayer only mod, seeing as it would be pretty hard to remake the old campaigns or make a new one. Just answer one question, is the monkey going to be in the game and will it be just short enough to mess people up?

But sexy, yes.
So I take it this is a multiplayer only mod, seeing as it would be pretty hard to remake the old campaigns or make a new one. Because what is a TS game without bots? so if you don't want to go online and get annoyed by people playing as monkey all the time, then bots will do the trick for solo play!
This is such a good idea, I really hope this gets finished.
This is such a good idea, I really hope this gets finished.
Considering that everyone is most likely going to get paid at the end and perhaps even set up a studio, it will undoubtedly get finished. The only question that is unsure is when

I think the way they see it is, they do not want to have a Crytek endorsed project go through a kickstarter since it'll look bad on them. They are a big company
Could this possibly get on Steam?
Wow Cairn I'm surprised to see that you're still keeping this Timesplitters port going. If you don't remember me I was on the original team when we were porting to source. Awesome work man!
I read "No fall damage", while the most vivid memory I have of my splitscreen playthroughs of TS2, was when I fell in the space station elevator and died, leaving my buddy to fend for himself for the good majority of the level. But I guess it's not true fall damage, just a falling death mechanic.
Hey, is there any way I can contribute?
How's progress?
