Nintendo has tons of cash to keep them afloat for a good long while even if they just utterly fail for three more years.
Nintendo didn't market the Wii U properly at all. A disturbing proportion of the public thinks it's a refreshed version of the Wii (as in, last generation) or a Wii accessory the way Kinect is.
As long as they don't fuck it up, when that WiiU-native open-world Zelda hits, things will change.
No because they've stated they'd shut their doors before going third party.

Is the Wii U flopping? It sold a ton after Mario Kart. Will make a killing off the back of Smash. Then will explode for Zelda.
I don't want a Nintendo that doesn't have complete creative control over it's content. Another company would fuck Nintendo over as a developer just like it did with Rare. Restricting it's creativity and fucking it free from it's personality. It would be a disaster. Nintendo will be a better company as long as it's not third party.
Besides, even if the Wii U could be considered a flop, the 3DS is still as healthy as ever.
But they would probably make more money if they went software only.
isn't the Wii-u like the only console with a healthy profit margain anyways, even if they sell less than the xbone and ps4, microsoft and sony don't make anything off of the boxes
