I do hope we'll see the Clone Wars era.

Watch it be an expansion that you can prepurchase soon with Battlefront Premium™
While I am 'hyped' for Battlefront i'm not looking forward to whatever else EA decides to stick onto DICE's new thing.
Probably have to use Battlelog, which has become such a chore to use for BF3/4
Droidikas were the best.
I would have loved to see this trough. You begin from space and have to invade the planet. The only way for the walkers to get onto the ground is by flying those dropships.

*fingers crossed*
Kind of going to miss driving the AT-TEs since Battlefront I and II were about the only games that actually let you have full control over one.
But hopefully they're going to do a Clone Wars expansion pack if the games does well enough.
Say what you will about the prequels, but I thought the clones and battle droids were pretty cool.

I always thought they were the best parts.
I'd rather they put all their efforts into perfecting a single era, then the inevitable sequel can be set during the Clone Wars
As long as there are space battles, I won't really mind if it's just one era.
I am so pumped for this game I cannot wait.

I've never understood the hate for the prequel movies. The combat in them was heaps more intense and I like how they integrated the politics into it.
I dig the retro future aesthetic of 456. 123 had none of that and went in a completely different direction for the tech, dress etc. maybe fine for others but not my cup of tea
Though i'd prefer clone wars, I will NOT be buying this either way if it doesn't have bots like BF1 and BF2 did.

It was good that they had bots, but I hope they can do better for this time around. Was always heaps easy to get 40:1 k/d ratios because the enemy was so stupid.
If it's locked down with bad DLC I'll be damned furious for sure.

Let's face it, it will be. Although I'd hope that they use the model where the DLC is like a set of maps and maybe some exclusive weapons or vehicles for those maps. Eg DLC packs around conflicts on a certain planet with several maps on that planet, unique uniform for that planet (like in Battlefront 2) and yeah wouldn't be entirely bad.

To be fair, DLC maps are still pretty messed up considering since forever ago customer made free maps were everywhere in so many games
unless they give the players the ability to make maps themselves, it's just, blegh.

Maybe for PC, but mapmaking for consoles is just impractical.
A lack of custom maps isn't really a game breaker for me - most custom maps lack the polish of official maps, and let's be honest 9/10 populated servers for most games only use official maps anyways.

Not really.
Create an in-game system where you can browse custom maps online and have them downloaded and stored on your console hard drive. Not impractical at all.
They better have both fucking eras in the game, it's bullshit to have both Battlefront games include them and then for this one to not have them.

Halo and Little Big Planet did it so why not others

Except for making sure maps are able to actually run decently on a console, making sure maps don't have some kind of malicious shit in it, and actually convincing Microsoft and Sony to be able to do that.
Really hope this game has bots and private server creation but I highly doubt it. Nothing beats having a few friends over and playing against hundreds of bots IMO.

Halo isn't a good example. By mapmaking I mean eg building a stone castle, Forge mode is more akin to making a sand castle in a sandbox. It's not proper mapmaking. No comment on LBP as I haven't played it.

LBP's extremely robust, but still ultimately a sandbox. Most of the really impressive stuff that people have done with it have been more extremely creative use of it's tools than things you can natively do.
I don't see the problem with only covering Episodes IV-VI.

Except the maps have to come from somewhere. Which with Frostbite is impossible to release mod tools due to the number of development tools, licenses, and sheer complexity required to make a single map.
