We should post reviews, ingame media or simply talk about games that can be played on the same screen with at least 2 people.
Here's what I've tried so far:
Sports sim:

Quite good, but that's because I'm well accustomed to this sport and the teams in europe and the players. I've tried it in 2 and 3 players and it works well. ★★★★/5

I didn't know much about baseball beforehand, but it quickly became a fun game to be played in 2. ★★★/5
FPS:

It works alright in 2p, but it lacks the atmosphere of SeriousSam 1 imo. The first split-screen campaign of egypt felt booring. ★★/5
Fighting:

Deserves more, but I wouldof liked it to have more playable characters out of the box ★★★/5
I'll update this list with your reviews/recomendations and also with the games I've tried but can't remember them right now.
I'm highly anticipating Binding of Isaac Rebirth for this purpose.
I miss playing games locally with other people. Its so much more fun.
Resident Evil 5 is a nice game to coop through, had a blast playing it with my gf. Are we also counting older games like from the earlier PS2 days? 'Cause the SSX games were always fun to play with a friend. Also a lot of fighting games like Virtua Fighter 4 (or 5 for 360 and PS3), the Soul Caliburs and Tekken games.
Screen Cheat is really fun for splitscreen(its always splitscreen, even online)
Oh, this might be helpful,

The game that I'm working on is one of these! It is still very early and not something I'm showing off yet, but there is something magical about couch versus/coop on the same screen that I just don't get from online games.
Smash bros on the couch is amazing.
Also to add to the thread, Lethal League just came out! and its the perfect game to set up in front of a group of friends and just have a go.

Another indie that came out recently is the wonderful Nidhogg!

also great on a couch for hotseat multiplayer!

Spectacular slam dunks, quite great that they include classic teams from the 80's,90's and so on.

Is there really any better fighting game?I'd say this is the best one from all the ones I've had the occasion to play. But I don't see why it's a 20gb game, there aren't many characters and arenas...

I didn't exactly fancy the fact that it's a naruto game, nor do I recognise the playable characters, but the fact that you can roam around the arena in 3d is quite nice, and the special moves are very rewarding to pull off. The special effects are really unique imo. Would have loved a DBZ game with this much effort put into it, as it was one of my favorite cartoons in childhood.

Yeah I tried this too and it was great fun, I would have liked more diversity in the battle arenas.

I'd be really curious of any quality horror local multiplayer games.
