Okay, so I've been playing some Gang Garrison at work after hours. It's low enough specs to run on ancient machines, and it's pretty simple to play, so non-gamers can get in on it. It's also only 5mb, so roaming profiles don't get bogged down with 700mb installs of FPS's.
So, what other games that are simple to play, have no downtime, and are small filesize are there, that are also multiplayer.
Stuff like TF2 would be good, but obviously, 7gb on a roaming profile is ridiculous, plus, it's also got high system requirements. Stuff like Worms and Scorched 3d have too much downtime and are also too complex (it took me long enough to explain Gang Garrison, and even when playing, I constantly get asked "which guy goes invisible", "how do you make an autogun" etc. Basically, some small action games that are multi player. You know that episode of the Office in Season 3, where they all play Call of Duty, well, it's like that, except we play Gang Garrison (and everyone in the office is as bad as Jim, but it's fun). I'm hoping to expand into some other games that are still simple and fun.

I'd look at some Flash games on Newgrounds or some where like that. I really don't know of any good multiplayer Flash games though.
Assault cube, I think it's about 40megs or so, but I installed it on all the computers in the modular.

There's a putt putt golf one that I always thought was pretty fun.
You could take turns on Super Crate Box. Or compare high scores if you're using multiple machines.

CS2D and Subvein look good. Flash Games are mostly blocked. I might check out assault cube. I've been trying to get the Standalone Team Fortress Classic working, but it won't register through our proxy (It's free from D2D, but it needs to contact a CDKey server). That's only a 25Mb file.

Last I remembered free version had offline take-turns multiplayer while paid / goldmember'd version has that and LAN multiplayer

The only difference between the two versions is that and a bunch of weapon packs in the paid version
I think you can install the paid version on as much computers as you want though, don't recall it having any sort of copy-protection

Basically, it's a side scrolling shooter not unlike Gang Garrison, but it is easier to play and much faster. Clocks in around 14mb. Oh, and it has bots (that work quite well too).
Babo violent 2 is a pretty mindless shooting game if your into that, 11mb. basically top down counter strike with only a few guns and deathmatch

That's not multiplayer, unless you count mods.
Seal hunter remake, but its 4 players max per server and weapons have to be unlocked. (You get a weapon per level then each 2 levels after you get lvl 3 till lvl 22 Which is when you unlock all weapons. Make sure that no one gets offended by stuff like that and doesnt mind lots of violence though :v:
