Waiting for HL3 is hard?

Here is something that can take your time a bit :

Basically... This mod is INSANE.
It is the Hazard Course of HL viewed by a sadistic guy doing some sort of black humor.
It reminded me a lot of HalfQuake.
Basically, you start in a prison cell, a Barney takes you to the center where you have to complete the "basic training" before trying the 10.000 kilometers (!!!) climbing tower.
You'll see many Barney and scientists dying in numerous and violent ways, you'll yourself experiment a "trial and error" activity.
In fact, it is the "same" as the Hazard Course (how to walk forward/left/right, how to jump, swim, long jump, escort a Barney, use the train...) but every time the HARD way : the traps are incredibly difficult and you'll probably ragequit numerous times.
If you manage to survive the "basic training" (took me about 6-7 hours), you'll gain access to the climbing tower (took me 2-3 hours) with numerous ladders, bumpers, and other ways to die... When you'll be at the top, congratulations!!! A beautiful scripted sequence will reward you (hint : Spaaaaaace), and then you can try to get the 21 secrets of the mod, the 2 secrets level, and FINALLY you'll see the "true" ending.
A friend of mine doing mods' walkthroughs on YouTube (Parkjinsung2509) will post tomorrow videos on how to get the 100%. MegatonBomb already posted a walkthrough but it is not 100% completed and he has recorded all his errors and deaths (making his walkthrough useful but quite painful to watch).

Addendum : even thought I suffered a LOT finishing this mod (and not at 100%), this is probably in my top 10 HL1 mods of all time. It is just sad that it was released in 2012 because there won't be many people playing it, but that's life...

This is one of my favorite mods. I think the hardest part is the area where you need to make Barney follow you through the machines.

Really high quality mod, props to the author. Im up to the 'barney' part, but I'll play it again some other time. These sort of timed-deathtrap npc escort are annoying in normal games, but its excruciating with half-life's terrible follow ai.
That stupid bastard barney just refuses to get off the conveyor belt when he first needs to and gets ground in to a pulp. Every. Fucking. Time.

The turret won't help you against the tank, it will blow you up in the blink of an eye. You have to use about 8 grenades (of the machine gun) and take cover as much as possible.
In fact, the best way is to take cover, crouch constantly, and shoot blindly and hope it touch the tank.
The tank doesn't see you when you hide behind the gun target.
I've installed it but can't seem to play it? Where do I go to start it?

Is there a port for this for Sven Co-op to play MP? Would be fun if you could play with a friend.

I really liked it, the maps were good and nice to look at.

Also, holy fuck the tower's impossible, especially the part with the floaty platforms. I always seem to die randomly.
I can't get the guard through that fucking laser thing.
Nevermind, he magically ran through the lasers without taking any damage.
Now I can't get past the train speed test. I tried what you said but it isn't working.
Alright, I finished it. Now I just need to find all the secrets.

That's a HL bug.
when that happens, wait for the track to do its thing, quicksave your game and immediately reload

You gotta love the author's sense of humor though.
Some of the sequences that happen are hilarious.
Also, for the people not hunting for any secrets or shit like that; you really should.
Early on, you can often find your way into the control rooms of various tests and can set the difficulty of them to easy.
(A secret room allows you to turn off the power to those laser cutters that you have to guide the security guard through in that factory place)
Other secrets may give you solutions to some huge puzzles.
(One of them gives you the solution to the train maze puzzle)

Got both of those. Very helpful, however the lasers never turned off for me. They just started spelling out the name of one of the developers.
