"NEO Scavenger takes place in a near-future, post apocalyptic Earth, where human warfare and supernatural activity have fragmented mankind into struggling pockets of civilization. Harsh wilderness and blasted ruins cover most of the planet, dotted by fragile settlements that can be extinguished in an instant. A few cities survived the apocalypse, evolving into massive, ultra-urban fortresses. Other areas have become so devastated that even to this day, the only inhabitants are the ghosts of the past.
Survival in NEO Scavenger demands using any tool at one's disposal. For some, that means reclaiming pre-cataclysm technologies, and bringing them to bear. For those lucky enough to be near one of the cities that survived, it means getting inside the impenetrable walls of the new fortress cities. Still others have reached deep into man's past, finding power long lost in voodoo, witchcraft, and thaumaturgy."
- Neo Scavenger Setting

Turn based survival..?
Now this is something you don't see every day
Night Vision is the best skill. It raises all three bars while scavenging and nets you a free pocketknife during the introductory encounter.
After that, the best skills are related to moving quickly and safely across the map and safe scavenging rather than combat or crafting. Any serious injury that puts the player below "Barely scratched" or "Injured" is normally where the game ends for me.
Looks nice, might play.
But why, and how, is he carrying a damned shopping cart?

Like all survival hobo's you use it like a vehicle to carry your many MANY tins of soup.
Oh god in this game the crowbar is not a weapon but an utility object to scavenge better.
How do I equip a weapon anyway? putting the poket knife in my hand didn't work, the HUD still said "weapon: punch"
Anyway I'm having a nice time with the demo

You can use it as a weapon as well.
Use the arrows in the bottom right to select which weapon in which hand you want to use.
Athletic, medic, night vision, tracking are must have. feeble can also be taken as a negative trait if you don't mind carying a crowbar at all times
Was rolling with night vision + botanics + hiding = 100% on everything when scavenging forests, always find 2+ water and lots of mushrooms

Let us know if you die from cholera or food poisoning.
Does anyone know what else is in the closed beta?
Just happened to me, its night time, i decide to make a little fire, no one is around me on the map, i fall asleep, GAME OVER, i was beat to death by a looter with a soup can...
can you even back out from a looting action?

Always sleep in the day or in the woods. They almost never find you then.

That's not carrying it.
Fuck's sake, I'm dead again.
This game is HARD. How many weapons are in the demo, anyways?
Game is fun but I hope they improve combat.
Good Christ, I have horrible at this game.
I'm successfully wandering about, surviving in the wasteland when BANG.
I'm dead of cholera :v:
Anybody know any recipes? I only know how to make a campfire (lighter way). If you don't know, it's one medium sized branch, one handful of small sticks and twigs, and a lighter.
Let us know if you die from cholera or food poisoning.
Cholera it is, good sir.
had 3 antibiotics which has done for a while, then died of dehidratation all of a sudden, one doesn't simply heal with antibiotics it seems
dammit, i was happily looting and even found a gun when suddenly the dogman killed me after i have finished scavenging. Nice... anyone knows how to get rid of the injured status ? it seems to stay long even after using the heal+rest action.
Yeah, this is what I hate about the game, you pretty much never heal up.

'fraid you need a medkit. You can start with one by taking Medic and using it in the intro encounter or you have a very slim chance of finding one scavenging in cities.
Right before I get to the Glow I always die of dehydration.
I'm really liking this game. It doesn't babysit you. It doesn't even teach you much. I picked up anything valuable and anything i could use as a weapon, expecting to find supplies easily, and promptly died of thirst. Because that's what would actually happen.
Knives ain't edible.
So what happens in the glow anyways? I always end up getting sniped by some random raider.
The Glow is the Detroit Mega City.
How do you make a darn fire i've died of cold thrice already?
This looks definitly amazing.
