Hello, Well here it goes, Me and some of my co-workers have been working on a little project called Fabula Mortis. I thought i'd show it to you guys and see what you think of it. We recently got greenlit and we are working hard on getting it out as soon as possible. We also have an Indiegogo going and it would be awesome if you took a look at it. I have been hanging around facepunch for quite a while (I used to post skins for GarrysMod a long time ago on an old account) and I know that it generally isn't a very good idea to use your first post to self promote, but I really want to see what people on facepunch thinks and of course if you do like it you can get it 25% off on the Indiegogo link posted down below. If there are questions I will try to answear them as good as I can. https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/fabula-mortis/x/8288934
I'm really digging those maps
If those screenshots aren't faked at all it looks really promising. Wish I had money to spare.
I love the art style. Hopefully it gets funded. Good luck!
It looks really good. What does it offer gameplay-wise over other FPS games?
Will it have bots?
I'm digging the character design, honestly. Best of luck on your funding.
Hey guys, I am very glad you like it! The game has character classes with different ways to play. Vlad for example is a melee only class and can jump on walls and lunge far distances. Rob has the ability to fly around for short distances. He uses bigger weapons like cannons and rocketlaunchers. Alice is pretty much your basic assault class. She uses a machinegun and a needlegun. The needlegun poisons enemy players and can also be used to heal herself. Rouge can use her powerful dual barrel revolvers to kill targets at far distances. She has the ability to use a radar to see foes better. Her second weapon has the ability to mark a target so you can see it behind walls. Wild Card Is an unlockable character that uses special shotguns like a paint shotgun that shoots paint which splatters all over the enemy players screen. He also has the ability to floor slide which makes him harder to hit. Wülf Is pyromaniac who builds menacing weapons from junk. He prefers DOT weapons such as flamethrowers. He is fire resilient and very fast since he has built himself a new pair of legs. You will be able to level up your characters using skill trees. Some of the levels has environmental hazards so you have think about where you're running about. Bots are fully supported and play differently depending on what class they are.
I always found it weird when the classes in class-based games had actual names. It's like if the scout in TF2 was called jim or something, it's just... weird.
Looks promising! Artstyle is neat, but textures and animations don't look quite premium at places.
Greetings, Sorry for bumping this thread but I wanted to tell you guys that Fabula Mortis will be available for purchase on steam today!
Completely forgot about this. You might modify the OP now that it's close to be available
Looks promising! Artstyle is neat, but textures and animations don't look quite premium at places.
This, though I'd call the artstyle more than neat in general. It's unique and it's beautiful. I'm honestly not sure if I'm interested in a "simple" class-based shooter, but I wish you guys a lot of success with your game - it's obvious that you've love and effort in there.
Overall it's.... actually a promising videogame. It's new and unique in concept and graphic design. I'll be looking for it. Also, I believe that you should fix up your OP. It'll make people want to look at it better.
Steam reviews seem to be bashing it to hell and back
