A: Festung Europa is NOT based on any existing game. It is a completely standalone PC title, and is being developed 100% from the ground up by Jackboot Games.

A: Currently, our plans are to release FE as a full price title as we feel this fits our business model and the needs of our community the best. Price is to be determined - however, one can expect a range competitive with other independent title releases.

I sure hope the animations are tripwire quality because, no offense to the team or anything, but the animations in DH were pretty bad (compared to RO1/RO2/KF)

Yeah I hope so to, considering it's a game this time and not a mod I would expect that.
It looks like they only got 1 level designer so far and that's Rekrut, the same guy who made Grumstation, Univermag, Koitois and Butovo for RO2, if I ever get my map released I should apply.

That being said those assets look damn sexy.
They also said they are going to have halftracks on release as well (more then 2 can you believe it!!!) :v: So I hope next update we either see some German guns or maybe some early WIP vehicle shots.
I wonder how the art style is going to compare between this and RO2.

This isn't anything like Rising Storm, if it was I would of just posted it in the RO2 thread, the Darkest Hour team are making their own game instead of modding for RO2 because they can do better (oh god the nostalgia, DH vs RO again) expect DH but I am assuming a lot bigger and better, with a lot of vehicles and huge maps as well.
Probably going to be a lot different then RO2 in that regard, closer to RO1 and DH. So yeah it's standalone but not connected to TW or RO2 at all like RS is.

they said they're building their team, hopefully that'll increase the rate at which they put content out.

They started working on it probably February and maybe the earliest Janurary so your right but they have Rekrut for mapping, once they get all the models done this guy will have 5 maps ready in a month, he was the mapping machine for DH and he makes maps pretty fast. I have faith in the team but let's see what happens with the Dev blogs.

well I"m reminded of the M3 grease gun (which I loved but a lot of people hated because of the sight)
That was probably my favourite gun in DH, the sight was fine because it was probably the most accurate SMG in game and was satisfying to shoot.

There was also multiple Polish formations under allied command in the ETO, like 1st Polish Armoured Division.

I'd like to see a browning hi-power (something that's neglected in a lot of games), and a MP40.
Also I would like to see an approximated sight picture of the rifles

the browning was in Darkest Hour wasn't it? I can see it being in here again, also I remember some custom maps that let us parachute and we have a concept art picture with paratroopers so maybe we get to play as the Fallschirmjager and get to use a FG-42, that's a lot more neglected (and damn awesome, fell in love with it in CoD 3).
That would be awesome, jumping out of a plane over the middle of the battle with it, also I wonder if they are going to use the DH way of artillery with the radio on the back again.
Also Shurek if your going to stalk my thread you better damn post or I'm kicking you out!

Ah ok I'm fine with that though if that is the case, as long as you don't pull a "well they could of been" lol it's just my inner little kid playing cod3 for the first time talking when mentioning that weapon.
I would assume though that the paratroopers is more part of the concept art then confirmed at this stage or might be a background thing like in the RO2 maps where you see AA shots firing into the air. I do like the theme from Sam though it has a nice mood and I think it fits currently, you guys should definitely add it to the main page somewhere.

I think Hans linked the Theme under the Media page at some point today. I'm not sure if he's planning on moving it to the main though.
British and Canadian paras did play a big part in the activities prior to the beach landings (Pegasus Bridge, Merville Battery, etc.).

Also rip the animation directly from Halo for maximum effect.
If it continually happens then on the 3rd time the gun burns up in flames thus setting you on completely on fire and a weapon to burn out tanks and burn out buildings and have that's left is your burning body and constant screaming. I think this could work if you want to give people nightmares, 1 up RO2 from their screaming people, someone better make that happen.
