Cube World is an open-world RPG adventure game developed by a guy named Wollay. His inspirations for Cube World are Minecraft, Zelda, Secret of Mana, Monster Hunter, Diablo, World of Warcraft and many more. Many people, at first glance, compare this game to Minecraft, but they are infact very different. While Minecraft focuses on more on building and survival, Cube World prioritizes combat, adventure, and has a much more RPG focus. Like Minecraft, however, the worlds are randomly and endlessly generated; there are no borders what-so-ever. The game is currently an open alpha stages, but lately there have been some issues on Wollay's website causing the shop to be down for a few days, so not many people have been able to buy it.

Wasn't this the game whose creator was invited to work at Mojang but he turned it down? If so, good on him. I wouldn't want to see this guys effort go into there at all, because this looks far more superior than anything Mojang and Notch will churn up.
Just from that video I see a lot of simple things that Minecraft could easily have had that would have made it so much more fun to play even after the hype phase was over. Definitely gonna keep my eye on this.

I just read through the posts on the blog about that, apparently the coloured bits of the weapon he makes adds elemental damage. Like a red one would be +1 fire damage. Really cool way of doing that.

Did it really need the Minecraft comparison? The only similarity they have is that they are both voxel based. Looks like a pretty fun RPG. OP you might want to add that there is also multiplayer.

Updated OP to reflect some information I found, looks like there won't be any digging/mining. Although I don't know if he means you won't fine ores, or you can't dig at all, so we'll have to wait to see.

Doesn't really look like it can be compared to minecraft other than it's a voxel game. However the game looks a lot more professional.
