So, I'm not active here, but I'm going to try asking for some help anyway while I wait and see what Steam forums/discussions have to offer. Honestly, I'm considering reformatting and going to Windows 8, but I'll wait and listen to advice from other users. First, I'd like to reference this "discussion": http://steamcommunity.com/app/550/discussions/0/618457398960599994/ As I've already tried my own amount of troubleshooting. Someone linked to a website with some fixes regarding common issues. Unfortunately, none have worked for me. 3, 5, and 6 seem to have closer relation to my problem (6 maybe is more). http://www.crashwiki.com/top-10-fixes-left-4-dead-2-crashes-errors-freezing-low-fps-steamcloud-character-difficulty-bug/ As I said in the discussion, I've already tried the following: Deleted ClientRegistry.blob Lowered page pool memory v-sync was already disabled mat_queue_mode was already on 0 multicore rendering was already disabled I'd greatly appreciate any help you have to offer me. Especially since I'm sitting here on a newly built system. This new system is only a few weeks old, never had a L4D2 problem until now. So in that regard, I'm rather confident anything the game requires is up to date. The last time I successfully played the game was a few days ago. We can rule out any changes to the game or Steam or even addons. Only thing changed is the passage of time. I looked in Event Viewer and this was something to stand out: Faulting module name: ntdll.dll, version: 10.0.10041.0 Faulting module path: C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\ntdll.dll It either gets all the way to a full progress bar or very close and crashes. Windows says "left4dead2.exe stopped working" or something like that. It then gathers and sends information to Microsoft. Windows 10 Pro Technical Preview 64-bit Intel Core 2 Quad Q9550 @ 2.83 GHz 8.00 GB Dual Channel DDR2 @ 533 MHz ASUSTeK Computer Inc. P5Q DELUXE (LGA 775) 896 MB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 260 (EVGA) 596 GB Western Digital SoundMAX Integrated Digital HD Audio Yea, I know Windows 10 isn't final. But as I already said before, it was running fine all month. I noticed the problem started yesterday. And the game was perfectly fine at least a day or two before. The rest of my programs all seem to be working properly. Windows 10 itself is rather stable for me so far. Only L4D2 is a known problem I'm aware of. Except for upgrading itself between builds, it's a clean install. Specifically I've only gone from one build to another. Thank you for your time and help.
