[b]BrainBread: Source is the spiritual successor of the well known Half-Life 1 zombie mod BrainBread.[/b]
This mod will be more than a remake. There will be the returning of the original gamemode and feel plus much more. Also there are plans on replacing all HL2 content with our own to give the mod a less Half-Life mod feel to it.
More details on the gamemodes that will be in the mod.
Classic
Classic mode is just like the first one, Arcade-fun-zombie shooter kind of type. You choose your gun at start, but some guns need a specific level and/or weapon skill to use it. More about this will be written when our skill system is done (its almost is, its around 90% done). Anyway, on Classic you can set 3 types of objectives, or fourth if you go advanced mode.
Type 1: Kill X Amount of Zombies.
Type 2: Find the briefcase and bring it back.
Type 3: Kill the mutated zombie Fred.
Type 4: (advanced mode only since its not that easy to do now :v:) Rescued by a helicopter
or just make a trigger_escape (If "[B]End Game[/B]" have been set to "[B]No[/B]".
Survival
This gamemode is a real survival experience, where you, the player have to survive the longest. Survival is hard if you set the difficulty right. For a real experience for it, Nightmare mode + Realism will make it very hard to beat. Each map also has its own stats, and who have the highest score on it.
Objective
Objective mode is a simple objective gamemode, where the player need to do certain objectives to escape/survive.

I wouldn't consider that to be the case. It was cancelled in 2008 revived in 2009 (I think) then died then revived again in 2012. No old content from the previous versions will be used as they are very low quality.

I think zombie number 2 is alittle too [B]black[/B]. Try using brighter colors.
Holy fucking shit this is amazing! Brainbread was the mod my friends and I played the most back before we had any Source games. Will player-controlled zombies still be unable to climb ladders? I remember there was a farmhouse map that had a nice spot in the barn where survivors could just sit 'till the round ended because apparently ladders are too advanced of a technology for zeds to understand.

Yes this time player controlled zombies will be able to climb ladders.

Holy shit I remember playing the first one so much. I was so sad when I realized the website wasn't updated anymore.
I used to love checking the website for new maps everyday, I miss it when the old mod was in its prime along with Sven Coop. Met a lot of friends from these mods I still talk to today.

This is going to be lovely.
BrainBread is likely my favorite GoldSrc mod. I think the gore system will be the most difficult to implement, but it's also arguably the most important. Other than the RPG skills, it's probably the biggest identifier for the game.

I hate to say it, but please don't be too ambitious with it. I have been waiting for BrainBread Source for years and I'd very much like it to not die again.
Lol don't worry we won't try to be too "ambitious". We will try to be as realistic with our goals as much as possible so we don't end up dying again. We've learned from the past mistakes. Also I want to thank you guys for the support, you are what really motivates us to finish this mod.
