[i]Multiply it by two[/i] for Double Action.[/quote] The game itself is a breakneck pace third/first person arena deathmatch, broken up by occasional mini-objectives. When you do stylish things like stunting as you kill people and jumping off tall buildings to chase down someone who's fallen, you earn [b]Style Points[/b]. That's right, a player's score is measured in style, not skill. When you fill your Style Meter, your [b]Style Skill[/b] is activated. You can choose from five styles: - [u]Marksman[/u]: Expert weapon handling. - [u]Bouncer[/u]: Glowing fists of death. - [u]Athletic[/u]: Acrobatic maneuvers. - [u]Reflexes[/u]: [i]Super[/i] slow motion. - [u]Nitrophilliac[/u]: Extra grenades. Every time you get a stunt kill, you gain 1 second of slow motion, up to a maximum of 5 seconds, unless you have Reflexes, which allows you up to [i]eight[/i] seconds of slowmo. Its not quite The Specialists, but its pretty damn close. It largely focused on replicating the feel of TS, instead of trying to do some of TS and a lot of wildly different stuff like others have before. It does what it does well. Its actually kinda surprising how much effort has been put in to it and points, like when you dive off a building on the rooftops, how your character actually twists and turns their body instead of just kinda hovering in a circle. Hopefully Wall Running and more indepth kung-fu/brawling will be implemented in the future, perhaps when it is released on Steam. i played for an hour or so, it was genuinely quite fun to play since score isn't necessarily based on who kills the most, there doesn't feel like as much of a pressure to be the best
I seriously cannot stop playing this for any extended period of time. It has altered my brain to be addicted to it.
Gonna check it out as soon as it comes to steam.

Vindicator is super OP. But this game is fun as hell and I couldn't care less at this point.
It's hard to get much style with the Vindicator. Really all it does is just slow down other players.

I really hope this continues to get support in the future. That would get me to play it more often. That, or a Facepunch game night on this. Gameplay wise, if you where to compare it with The Specialists. It's like the difference between Unreal Tournament and Quake Arena. It doesn't take you too long to get off the ground running in Double Action (and Unreal Tourney) as it would The Specialists (and Quake) since you need to learn more advanced techniques just to have a hope to survive against the Veterans that bunny hop around like fucking lunatics. With Double Action, the Action is fast but not exactly overwhelming like Specialists. In other words, there's no need to worry about some guy called "Angel's Share" wrecking [i]everything[/i] that moves, Those encounters where just horrific and you would be put off the game if you had those kinds of encounters in all of your matches. Double Action is a lot more inviting and I think it helps the game in the long run in result. Some people may like the challenge of getting as good as the veterans in a short space of time just to go toe to toe with them though. I wasn't really brought up on Quake so the concept of bunny hopping/Strafe-jumping is kind of alien to me, unless you just hold Space to continue to jump like in Warsow, since makes a whole lot more sense to me than however you usually do it. I'm not too sure if I like the Class system though for Double Action. But, then again. All i picked was the Acrobatic class and dived like a dumbass everywhere, unless i picked the 'nade class, then I'm just Bomberman.
How many people play this game? Always looking for some new games to play.

I just noticed Double Action was released on steam, Great to see that there are plenty of packed servers. I really hope there is continued support for this. Marksman perk + Vindicator + High place + Race marker above your head for extra challange = Total destruction, that might need to be nerfed a little.

This definitely look interesting, although one thing that racks my brain is the question of how do you handle the slo-mo in this multiplayer versus game? Does one person activating slo-mo cause slo-mo to happen for everyone, or is there some sort of clientside sorcery involved to make it slow down for the one person but not everyone else? I imagine it's the former, since I think the latter would require either very special coding or some form of actual time dilation.
