What is Xenoblade Chronicles? Xenoblade Chronicles is a science fiction role-playing video game developed by Monolith Soft and published by Nintendo for the Wii console. The game was announced during E3 2009 under its original title Monado: Beginning of the World. It was later renamed Xenoblade in January 2010 to honor Tetsuya Takahashi, the director of the game and all prior games in the Xeno series. Mech customization fuck the hell yes also nice job on this thread Clau definitely gonna frequent it
I really hope there are some people here who are planning on importing because I would love to read some impressions when the game is out in Japan.
i love the doll insurance feature i think this might be the first game that covers insurance within its world
i love the doll insurance feature i think this might be the first game that covers insurance within its world
It's not even the first Nintendo game with insurence I think, didn't Animal Crossing have some health insurence for when you got stung by bees?
On a side note, here's some leaked music that will be in the game by Hiroyuki Sawano, well known for being the composer of animes such as Attack on Titan and Kill la Kill.
One thing I love about the soundtrack is that it doesn't try to be Xenoblade 2.

Some of the artwork on the Xenoblade X site is amazing. I mean just look at this :
True that. I don't own a Wii U, but I'm almost tempted to grab one for this and a few other titles.
How have I never heard about this game? This looks awesome
It almost looks too good to be true. Also, if you wanna see what the original was all about (I dunno if there are any story connections to the original though), ChuggaaConroy did a damn big IDLP of the game and is currently finishing up the things he didn't do before the final boss. If anything, it'll probably be a help if you ever get stuck with some of the sidequests or think you're gonna miss out on something. The original on its own was pretty amazing, and this spiritual sequel looks like it's gonna be one of THE games to own in 2015. Hopefully it won't get limited in its release by GameStop again, since that's what caused the original Xenoblade to be in such short supply, with copies of it being quite rare and expensive as a result. (the scarcity probably won't be a problem for the version on New 3DS, though)
I'm hoping I like the battle theme more when the game comes out. I don't mind it not being Xenoblade Chronicles tier as that's just unfair but when the rap starts it just sounds bad. As the song goes on it blends slightly better but the initial lyrics are just kinda ech [editline]15th April 2015[/editline]
I really hope there are some people here who are planning on importing because I would love to read some impressions when the game is out in Japan.
Was considering it myself but I don't think I'm going to. I'm not the best when it comes to reading Japanese so crawling through a JRPG would slaughter me. All those stats...

I still don't have this game.. it's so hard to get/expensive for the Wii. And there's no way I'm getting a New 3DS just to be able to play the game.. might be worth it but I'm not really willing to take the risk.
Yeah it's a pity. I was considering getting a copy for my sister's Wii, but then I saw the pricetag and had to nope out. But I'm definitely still considering getting a Wii U, since it seems to have most of the worthwhile exclusives this generation.
So is there any confirmed story connection to Xenoblade Chronicles, or is it just in name and gameplay style only?
So is there any confirmed story connection to Xenoblade Chronicles, or is it just in name and gameplay style only?
It's unclear, though [sp]Telethia have been name dropped as well as a few other things so... maybe?[/sp]
So is there any confirmed story connection to Xenoblade Chronicles, or is it just in name and gameplay style only?
Supposedly no direct story connection, but we're certainly going to be seeing plenty of tie-in and references. Nopon are undoubtedly making an appearance once again, but beyond recurring elements they've claimed that the plots will be entirely distinct. I'm getting the feeling that it's gonna' be a final fantasy-esque thing, where recurring elements make it in but the settings are otherwise pretty much distinct.
So, they won't be feeling it then?
Perhaps, if we're lucky, the new characters will have a chance to really feel it as well. Though in the end I get the feeling that it just won't be the same...
So long as they have British accents in the Western release, it'll help keep some of the magic.
Something tells me that they are telling this Distinct story stuff to cover up a plot having to do with [sp]Zanza basically destroying the world[/sp]
Something tells me that they are telling this Distinct story stuff to cover up a plot having to do with [sp]Zanza basically destroying the world[/sp]
I've brought that up several times, but I keep getting stonewalled by people saying that [sp]Klaus created his new universe Just Because and that there were no aliens going around pushing Humanity towards extinction to spark a real need for him to do what he did.[/sp]
The way I saw it was that [sp]the events of Xenoblade Chronicles took place in a "pocket universe" created by the experiment, and while the events of the past 10000 or so years took place, the forces of Growth saw the terrors that the people of that realm were capable of. Thus, when the worlds of Bionis/Mechonis were reborn as the "World Without Gods" that Shulk desired, Growth drew up plans to destroy the planet in an attempt to prevent another Zanza from emerging.[/sp] But I do feel that there was a thread left hanging in that end sequence, in that [sp]if Klaus and Meyneth were transformed into Bionis and Mechonis when the experiment went haywire, what happened to the other scientists? Did they become Titans as well, somewhere beyond the sky, or were they simply annihilated?[/sp]

Oh hey Telethia. Guess it is connected, big surprise
Great! The only thing I need now is a Wii U...
Oh hey Telethia. Guess it is connected, big surprise
Now, the question is: Is it before or after Xenoblade Chronicles? I'll bet on after but they could have another explanation for them in this game. [sp]Where they are not High Entia mutated by Ether.[/sp]
Oh hey Telethia. Guess it is connected, big surprise
And by that logic, one can assume that there's [sp]High Entia[/sp] in this game. After all, [sp]pureblood High Entia transform into Telethia when exposed to high frequency ether, so even with Zanza destroyed the legacy of the destructive Telethia would still live on.[/sp] Also I am still convinced that it is after the events of the first game.
Here's the subbed version of the story trailer
