Set in a drug-fuelled, retrofuturistic city in an alternative 1960s England, you’ll have to blend in with its other inhabitants, who don’t take kindly to people who don't abide by their not-so-normal rules.
The game takes place in a place called "Wellington Wells", supposedly run by Uncle Jack; Front man for Wellington Wells Broadcasting Corporation. He can tell the news, run a comedy show, and even read you a bedtime story. The rules of this 1960s English town are simple. -Always Smile -Always be Happy -Take your Joy -Keep a watchful eye for Downers -Never become a downer yourself! Or else... The game is supposedly a First person, Survival, Puzzle/Strategy game, where you must escape from the constant Wonderland that is Wellington Wells, it's perky junkie denizens, and the ominous Uncle Jack. as far as this article states, there are crafting mechanics, booby traps to avoid, and measures you must take to simply not die. Measures such as. -Not doing suspicious things in public like constant crouching -Breaking into a home or store and setting off the booby traps laid within -Not Overdosing on Joy -Not eating too much of the Joy laced food
Pictures
Release date is unknown, but as of PAX 2015, we're supposed to see or hear more about it, or so the Dev's said on the official website.
SO EXCITED FOR THIS GAME HNNNNG
SO EXCITED FOR THIS GAME HNNNNG
Same here, always good to see unique looking games
I'm excited, this is one of the games I'm looking forward to besides Firewatch!
This and firewatch are on my top list, im soo hype!
This and firewatch are on my top list, im soo hype!
Oh, there should be a thread for Firewatch too. So much potential there too.
I don't know what the feel of Bioshock is called, but something about that game series is my all-time favorite and I get the same feeling with this game too just by the trailer. I just can't put my finger on it. I like dystopian-type settings and the 'Big Brother's watching you' kinda theme, I hope this game will be as successful as Bioshock was
This and firewatch are on my top list, im soo hype!
Those two plus whatever we're getting at the Bethesda Conference at E3 2015 makes me giddy with anticipation

Of course they're both really anachronistic and incorporate stuff from a bunch of eras to form their own identity. I dig that nixie tube clock from one of the concepts.
Latest Info, the game is 8 months in development, but is only in "pre-alpha". Thus they're thinking about a Kickstarter
Here's an interview PC Gamer did. It has some gameplay in it too.
"Procedural Generation". I dunno about you guys but that raises a tiny red flag with me.
"Procedural Generation". I dunno about you guys but that raises a tiny red flag with me.
I don't really see how a game like this will work for any kind of replayability without it unless the world was fucking huge. I have never really had a problem with procedural generation its self I just find that most companies making games with it rely too much on it over actual content for longevity of the product. It is a great idea because if you have a good mix of content and things to do the procedural generation only further enhances the replayability but companies tend to focus too much on the procedural side of things when they actually need to add more activities. When I see word of procedural generation in games like this rather than a small red flag I see a small glimmer of hope that they are going to use it correctly as it will help the game be far greater if balanced correctly with actual content and replayability.
I'll be so sad if it turns out to be a disappointment like BS Infinity.
I still have to try Contrast but this one looks interesting, reminds me a little of The Ship and Bloody Good Time.
I like the style they're going for, and the concept seems really fun.
Neat world. I hope it holds up well under scrutiny.
This game is the only game I'm keeping an eye on besides Firewatch, I'm so excited YES
The plot is twisted, love it, happy bioshock.
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/112359230/we-happy-few-welcome-to-wellington-wells-you-saucy Kickstarter is up!
