Hatred is an unoriginal twin-stick shooter designed solely to create domestic disputes amongst soccer moms and Jack Thompson proteges worldwide; for neckbeards to add playthroughs on their Youtube channels to prove to the world that they can claim that the game isn't as distasteful as the former claims it is and to justify that nobody cares that it's even out while still acting as nerdy and embarrassing as possible. Truth is, behind the destructible environments and promise of free DLC, the 10 guns at your disposable and the six to eight hour long "campaign" that's just some faux-open world environments with death traps strewn all around you're paying twenty dollars for an hour of cheap thrill and nothing to show for it. Nobody cares that you own this game
So let's recap some quick pointers when you go to brag about your friends that you bought this game and they ask you why and you have to backpedal and defend your purchase:
•6-8 long hour campaign that you can beat in about an hour
•some of the worst optimization out there
•crazy ragdoll physics and no gore. just some lousy blood splatters
•cops and/or national guard are extremely lethal so you have to either hit them hard or get away from them (because getting randomly hit by traffic isn't the real cause of your death (just kidding, it is))
•civilians can pick up weapons and attempt to fight back (aka JUST KIDDING NO THEY DON'T)
•the environment is destructible but the buildings aren't collapsable
•10 guns, 3 throwable weapons. because that's a lot these days. 6 of them are assault rifles that are just carbon copies of each other
•drivable vehicles that blow up after two shots to the trunk. drivable vehicles with mounted turrets that blow up as soon as you get in to them
•free content updates
•no health pickups or regen. execute people to regain health (but be warned of the repeating animations (all three of them))

As edgy and fucking stupid as the game is itself, the art style is pretty nice.

Imagine if someone got killed in a massacre while wearing a hatred shirt.
I doubt he'll get any reactions anyways, considering it's just a shirt with HATRED on it in big metal letters. He might get a couple off looks from some old people, at best.
Jokes aside, the game really does look like it has some arcade-style gameplay appeal to it. The small bits I've seen looks like it can be pretty fun.

This actually looks pretty fucking awesome, gameplay-wise, at least.
I'm just glad this isn't getting a store release. I love me some mindless carnage, but the less likely that a parent can waltz into a store and buy this game for their kid who probably has good grades in school, the better. If parents can ignore the mature rating on the box of a Call of Duty game, they'll probably ignore this too.
My "hatred" for this game is pretty much gone after this fiasco with the first trailer has died down.

this reminds me of that facepunch post for a literal murder simulator where you can stalk a person to their house and then set up a huge series of traps or something.

Then SJW people on tumblr said they hated it too, when suddenly everyone here loves the shit out of it as a 'smart, fun and ironic Postal-esque commentary on violent videogames', with people pre-ordering and rallying for petitions to get it back on Steam?
Then it falls out of media attention, and the opinion here is pretty much back to 'yeah, it was a bad game all along'.

honestly i've never even heard of it before until i made the thread. you can tell it's just one of those pitiful top-down shooters that loses its replayability after the first hour of playing it. that being said though it's still got a lot of potential if modding really does become a thing for it. fifteen bucks is way too much for what you're really getting though, i'll have to agree
i'm pretty good about trolling the forums in search of new titles but i can't say that i've ever seen anyone even mention this game, so i don't know anything about the history of it. should be pretty obvious the tumblrites and soccer moms have nothing better to do than to bring back up the age-old jack thompson argument
