Much like its' counterpart, SAMP, MTA:SA offers a wide variety of servers, gamemodes, scripting and modding availabilities, and much more, ranging from serious RP to full on DM servers. This thread is dedicated to those who partook in its' various communities, servers, and congregations alike, for you to share memories and recall the good old times. Oh, and, yes, it is still very much alive. Not to the degree of tens of thousands of people like SAMP, but, to a large margin. Ah yes Multi Theft Auto. I remember it so fondly. Years ago, my brother and I made a private server for us to play around, since we had some "disagreements" about SAMP. It included a freeroam mode that lets us fuck around. I remember, we found a modloader script that allows us to add our own custom models. We went to town adding in ripped models such as characters and vehicles from Metal Gear, Call of Duty, etc., and eventually we hit the limit of 200+ characters from various games. We had a blast just fucking around in our server. We found a dayz-zombie script that spawns and streams 100 zombies around you that would chase you wherever you go, which was fun for a while, until it severely lagged my Dell Optiplex GX270 computer with 512MB of RAM and 64MB of video memory and then it BSOD. I also found a Slenderman game script, which turns MTA into, well you know the game, which comes with a first person script too. I edited the script to allow us to fire weapons, drive cars in first person. We tried fighting Slenderman by firing a minigun at him, rockets and grenades, even tried ramming him with cars, but nothing happened. We also used the same script to make our own deathmatches, which involves fighting in a lone town on a dark, rainy day, and a first person zombie survival. I think I still have the server files laying around, but I doubt it, since then we got new machines, and I can no longer find the server files that we used. Those were the days. [editline]12th May 2016[/editline] Okay, I found the server files, but it is an old version, 1.3, I think.

I recall several RP servers that entail an HL2RP level of seriousness, yet were set in a city environment. I also recall literal 28 days later servers full of Hungarians, with 300 people on the server. Good times.

Simbad de Zeeman server was the best imo.

I still have a fully working server install for MTA:DayZ but no one really touched it other than Brazilians and the odd Russian.
