Do you like Drum N Bass or Detroit Techno? Do you like London or New York? Do you like street racing and fast cars? Do you really miss the early 2000's? If you answered "yes" to any of that, y'all need Midnight Club Street Racing in your life. I recently rediscovered this game while going through some old stuff of mine for a move and holy shit, the memories all started coming back to me with this. Just blaring down one of the London streets in a riced out hatchback while Drum N Bass was playing out of my dinky little television. It's free roam mode was one of my first examples of open world gameplay and peaked my interest in other similar games like Grand Theft Auto, which was published by the same company. Fuck, I remember one thing I wanted to do was make a GTA London mod with the map from this game, but it's near impossible to extract the files. Maybe one day! Anyone else remember this fun piece of work?
I loved the Midnight Clubs. The open world thing was fantastic for racing, I haven't ever seen another series pull that off as well. I only had them on Xbox, so I just looked it up on Steam but saw this: And only Midnight Club 2 is on there, none of the others.
I know, it sucks that of all the Midnight Club games there were, they only put the second one on PC. Shame on them, for real.
I spent hundreds of hours playing these on PS2 Online back in the day.
Wait, MC: Street Racing has freeroam? I thought it was a linear racing game like some of the NFS games (Hot Pursuit, Underground, Prostreet come to mind), Forza series (except for Horizon), etc. I did play both MC2, 3 and Los Angeles, but I thought the first one didn't have freeroam. (I know vehicle customization wasn't available until MC3 though.)

I never liked the fancy exotic cars, they felt too Need for Speed-ey to me. I always liked the imports and riceburners. It's a guilty pleasure of mine.
