INTRODUCTION
Five Nights at Freddy's is a 2014 indie point-and-click survival horror video game developed by Scott Cawthon. The game centers on the fictional pizza restaurant Freddy Fazbear's Pizza, where the player must act as a night security guard, defending themself from the malfunctioning animatronic animal characters by tracking their movement through the facility using security cameras.
The game was praised by critics for being a unique take on the survival horror genre, with a particular emphasis on its simplistic design, along with how its gameplay mechanics and aesthetics contributed to an overall feeling of fear and paranoia. Five Nights at Freddy's was the top-selling game on Desura for the week ending August 18, 2014, and the game became the subject of a number of popular "Let's Play" videos on YouTube.

- Gameplay
The player must survive their shift, lasting from midnight to 6:00 a.m. (in game time) without being attacked by one of the animatronic animal robots roaming the facility. The player, who sits in an office and is unable to move, is given access to a network of security cameras throughout the facility to track the movement of the animatronic robots. Four [sp]of the five[/sp] characters have distinct movement patterns; however, most of the characters' movements take place off-screen. The camera feeds are dimly lit and distorted, one of the rooms only contains an audio feed, and the cameras do not cover certain areas of the building, most notably the two hallways directly to the left and right of the player. The player cannot leave the guard room, but can close the doors to defend themselves, and briefly turn on lights in the hallways to check for animatronics. Use of these actions consume the player's limited electrical power; if the power runs out, the cameras become inoperable, the doors open, and the lights go out, leaving the player with no defense against an attack.
As the title suggests, the game has five levels comprising five "nights" in the game, which increase in difficulty. [sp]Completion of the game unlocks an even more difficult 6th Night level, and completion of this level opens up a "Custom Night" level editor where the player can adjust the AI difficulty of the individual characters.[/sp]
- Plot
The main character [sp]who was later revealed to be Mike Schmidt[/sp] has started a job working as a night watch security guard at the restaurant Freddy Fazbear's Pizza (a pastiche of restaurants like Chuck E. Cheese's). A voicemail message left by Mike's predecessor explains that the animatronic animal characters used at the restaurant, including the titular Freddy Fazbear, Bonnie the Bunny, Chica the Chicken, and Foxy the Pirate Fox, are able to roam freely around it at night, because if they were left off for too long, their servo motors would lock up. He also adds that the characters were no longer allowed to roam freely during the day following an incident referred to as the "Bite of '87", which apparently involved the loss of someone's frontal lobe. The employee warns the player that if one of the robots encounters a human, they will automatically assume that it is a robot that is not in costume yet, and "forcefully stuff them" into a spare mechanical Freddy Fazbear costume, killing them in the process.
Newspaper clippings in the background of one of the scenes reveal that the restaurant was site to the disappearances of five children whose bodies were never found, after a man dressed as one of the animatronics lured them into a back room, and was said to have murdered them. Later, the restaurant received complaints that the animatronics began to smell foul and became stained with blood and mucus around the eyes and mouth, with one customer comparing them to "reanimated carcasses".

- Gameplay
As in the first game, Five Nights at Freddy's, the player must survive a night shift at Freddy Fazbear's Pizzeria, from 12 A.M. to 6 A.M. (in game time), without being attacked by any of the animatronic enemy characters [sp](10 in all)[/sp] that wander from room to room. The player cannot leave the security office, but can track the animatronics' movements via a network of surveillance cameras placed throughout the building. The office has three entrances, a hallway and two side air vents; in a departure from the previous game, none of these can be sealed off to block enemies from entering. Each vent is equipped with a light that can be used to check for any characters that are about to crawl into the office.
The player character can put on a mask to ward off approaching animatronics, however this strategy will not work on all of the enemy characters. A flashlight is also available, used to check the hallway and darkened areas of the camera feeds, as well as to reset certain animatronics via strobing. Although the power supply for the cameras and vent lights is unlimited, the flashlight does have a finite battery life; if it runs out, the player becomes vulnerable to attack. In addition, a music box has been placed in one room and must be remotely wound up through the camera interface, to avoid being attacked by an additional enemy that appears should the music stop.
[sp]Unlike the first game, after the player is killed, there is a chance that rather than the Game Over screen one of four low-resolution minigames will appear, with instructions given at the start of each. These minigames provide insight into the backstory of the events that have given the restaurant its troubled reputation.[/sp]
The game consists of five nights, increasing in difficulty. [sp]Completing all five unlocks an even more difficult sixth night, which in turn unlocks a "Custom Night" upon completion. In the Custom Night, the player can adjust the AI difficulty of the individual enemy characters or play one of 10 pre-set challenges.[/sp]
- Plot
The player character [sp]who is later revealed to be named Jeremy Fitzgerald[/sp] has started working as a night watch security guard at the family restaurant Freddy Fazbear's Pizza. One of the other employees calls the player on a phone in the office to explain both gameplay and the story. The animatronics, which have special facial recognition software to protect the children from potential harm, were not programmed with a night mode, so when they do not hear any noise, their programming tells them that they are in the wrong room and they seek out the nearest source of noise to find people to entertain, which happens to be in the office. As in the previous game, the animatronics' programming also tells them that there should not be people in the restaurant after hours, so when they encounter the player character, they believe he is an animatronic endoskeleton without a costume and stuff him into a spare Freddy Fazbear suit, killing him in the process. The man on the phone also explains that this restaurant has an unlimited power source at night, unlike the previous location, but there are no doors blocking access to the office, requiring the player to use either a spare Freddy Fazbear mask to trick the animatronics into thinking he is not an endoskeleton. The player is also informed their flashlight will cause certain animatronics to reboot and leave the room. As more enemy characters appear as the player advances through the game, the man on the phone informs the player of the characters' presence, their movement patterns, and some background information on their presence in the sequel. For example, the man on the phone explains that the older animatronics are in the new restaurant, and have been retrofitted with the new technology, but as they did not work properly they are kept for spare parts.
On the game's fifth night, the player is informed by the man on the phone that the restaurant has been put on lockdown due to an event that he will not describe, but is in place to make sure no employees, present or former, can come in or go out. He also mentions that the position of the restaurant's day shift security has a vacancy and the player may be promoted to it, and that the owner of the older restaurant named "Fredbear's Family Diner" will be contacted for more information on the animatronics. [sp]On the sixth night, the man on the phone informs the player that the restaurant has been closed for undescribed reasons, but he does mention that someone used a "spare yellow suit" for the animatronics and now none of them work properly. He also tells the player that he will be taking over as night shift security guard when the restaurant reopens. If the player is successful in surviving the sixth night, he is promoted to day shift to cover a birthday party on the next day to make sure the animatronics do not cause any problems. A newspaper that is shown in the winning screen of the sixth night says that the restaurant will close down and the newer animatronics will be scrapped, but the older ones saved for when the restaurant reopens, hinting at the events of the first game. The year the game takes place is also revealed to be 1987, and the man on the phone is the same character as the previous game, suggesting that the events of this game take place before the original.[/sp]
[sp]In the custom night level, Jeremy is replaced by a new player character named Fritz Smith due to Jeremy's promotion. If the player manages to win the custom night, they discover Fritz has been fired for "tampering with [the] animatronics" and "odor", a call back to the previous game's custom level message.[/sp]

- Trailer

- Gameplay
Gameplay deviates from the previous games in the series slightly, with the player once again tasked with defending themselves from a malfunctioning animatronic during the night shift, this time at a local amusement park. Players must monitor two different camera systems (security cameras and cameras within the ventilation system) and three subsystems; audio (used to lure the animatronic away from the player's office), cameras (used to observe and track the animatronic), and ventilation (which must be kept running to avoid seeing hallucinations during the player's shift.) The subsystems can fail periodically and must be rebooted to avoid undesirable effects.
The game consists of five nights, increasing in difficulty. [sp]Completing all five unlocks an even more challenging "Nightmare" level. Between levels, the player is able to play one of several low-resolution minigames as the animatronics from the first game, with several vague hints scattered around the levels for players to decipher. Players who decipher these hints will unlock bonus content, such as additional minigames and a cheat menu.[/sp]
- Plot
The game is set 30 years after the events of Five Nights at Freddy's. The player assumes the role of a newly hired employee at Fazbear's Fright, a horror-themed attraction designed to capitalize on the disastrous past events at Freddy Fazbear's Pizza. During the week before the attraction is scheduled to open to the public, the player must watch over the facility from the security office during the night shift (12:00 am to 6:00 am game time), using a network of surveillance cameras placed in the rooms and air vents. In addition, the player must monitor the status of three operating systems - cameras, audio, and ventilation - and reboot them whenever they begin to malfunction. Camera problems cause the video feeds, already poorly lit and distorted by static, to deteriorate even further, while ventilation breakdowns can cause the player to hallucinate that various animatronics from the first two games are about to attack.
After the first night, a badly deteriorated animatronic rabbit named Springtrap is added to the attraction. The player must now prevent it from entering the office and attacking; if this happens, the game ends. The player can seal off the air vents at certain points to block its progress, but cannot seal the door or air vent that lead directly into the office. The audio system can be used to play sound effects that draw it away from the office.
As the nights progress, the player hears a series of instructional cassette tapes similar to those from the first two titles that instruct employees how to operate the Springtrap suit, which can be worn by both humans and animatronic endoskeletons. [sp]However, later tapes discourage usage of the suit by employees due to a series of fatal accidents involving the suits spring mechanism. Low-resolution minigames between nights hint at the restaurant's troubled past. Unlike past series entries, the game also features multiple endings.[/sp]
[sp]Completing all five nights unlocks a bonus "Nightmare" level. When this level is completed, a newspaper clipping reveals that Fazbear's Fright is destroyed in a fire shortly after the events of the game, and that any salvageable pieces from the attraction are to be auctioned off.[/sp]

- Trailer

- Gameplay
Gameplay heavily deviates from that of previous Five Nights at Freddy's games. Unlike past games in the series, the game is not set in a security guard station, but in a child's bedroom. There are no cameras, and instead the player must check the doors, closet, and bed for nearby animatronics. The player is equipped with a flashlight, similar to the second game, although the light has unlimited power. It can be used to ward away nearby animatronics, although the player must avoid doing this at the doors if they hear a radio-like noise [sp]or if they see Nightmare Fredbear or Nightmare upon turning the flashlight on, in which case the player must immediately close the door[/sp]. The player must also monitor the closet and bed to avoid being attacked by Nightmare Foxy and Nightmare Freddy, respectively. If the player shines the light at Bonnie, Chica, or Freddy when they are too close to the player, or if an animatronic is able to get into the player's bedroom [sp](with the exception of some cases with Nightmare and Nightmare Fredbear)[/sp], the player will be jumpscared, leading to a game over. After beating each night, the player can play a timed minigame titled "Fun with Plushtrap", where they must try to get a small version of Springtrap, the only animatronic in Five Nights at Freddy's 3, onto an X marked on the ground within a specific amount of time. If the player wins, the player will start the next night at 2 AM. Like the nightmare animatronics, this gets harder as the game progresses. It is impossible to use the time bonus in the unlockable modes.
Like previous games, the game takes place over five increasingly-difficult nights. [sp]Completing all five nights will unlock an additional sixth night, serving as an epilogue to the game's story. Completing the sixth night will unlock the "Nightmare" night; in this mode, the only animatronic is Nightmare, a highly-aggressive black version of Fredbear. A secret cheat code will unlock "20/20/20/20 Mode", based on the Custom Night modes from the first two games. Other unlockables include galleries of the various animatronics and jumpscares, as well as behind-the-scenes looks at the 3D-modelling process for Fredbear and Foxy.[/sp]
- Plot
The game starts with the player, a young boy, locked in his bedroom with plush versions of the animatronics from Freddy Fazbear's Pizza, being guided by a plushie Fredbear (the original Freddy Fazbear). Each night, he suffers from nightmares that he is being attacked by the animatronics. After the player survives the first night, Fredbear tells the boy that "He" is hiding in the house before the boy is jumped by a man wearing a Foxy mask, which appears to have been ripped off one of the boy's plushies. After the second night, the boy is abandoned at the pizzeria, only to be warned by Fredbear's voice that "He" is coming and that he needs to be brave; however, the boy is sensitive and afraid of the animatronics and costumed mascots, and he ends up crying. [sp]An easter egg during this scene briefly shows the "Purple Man" from the second and third games placing someone in the Spring Bonnie suit.[/sp]
As the game progresses, it reveals through the minigames that other children think of the boy as a coward and a crybaby, that he is always bullied by other kids, and that there are rumors of the animatronics coming to life at night and attempting to murder people. [sp]After the fourth night, it is revealed that he was once locked in the building's parts and services room as a prank. If the 5th night is completed, the boy is shown crying at his own birthday party in the pizzeria. "He" is revealed to be the boy's brother, alongside other bullies wearing the masks of the animatronics from the first game to terrorize the boy. The group, deciding to prank the boy, grab him and try to get him close to the mouth of Fredbear for a "kiss" and end up stuffing the boy's head into the mouth of Fredbear. Suddenly, Fredbear forcefully closes his mouth, resulting in the boy's head being crushed.[/sp]
[sp]After night six, the boy hears a voice apologizing to him as Fredbear promises him that no matter how many times he "breaks", he and the others will put him back together. The characters then fade out one by one, ending the game. If the player completes Nightmare mode, an image of a locked metal trunk is displayed, with the game stating "Perhaps some things are best left forgotten, for now."[/sp]

Here's to a new thread, a new game, and hopefully less posting about the really bad and/or dumb shit that the rest of the fanbase does on a regular basis.
Seriously, that was getting wicked annoying.
Why did the old thread get locked?
What's worse: Five nights at Freddy's or one night in Bangkok?
I'm guessing we survived the first night?
The thread should have been called Five Nights At Freddy's Night 2
Hi
Nice OP & first reply. We're gonna be ok.

mass murder just happened in facepunch and you missed it?
Ok this wasn't part of a deleted subforum so idk, why is that actually?
new thread, new start.
At least the OP isn't bad like the last one.
Can someone answer this? I'm trying to edit the OP, but every time I do it, it give's me a blank post.
Sorry, I'm new at making threads.

There, I updated the OP to avoid huge spoilers.
