[hd]https://youtu.be/plXnZNAWE_s[/hd] (Make sure you turn on 60FPS) :) We're back, and better than ever! Although we fell short of raising our goal on Kickstarter, we've just launched a new campaign with brand new content! We're confident we'll be able to gain your support this time around.
This Sounds Similar... Tower Unite is a spiritual successor of one of the most popular gamemodes on Garry’s Mod, GMod Tower. GMod Tower, which runs on the Source Engine, is where we invented the core ideas and concepts for Tower Unite. GMod Tower has been available for free to the public for over five years and has constantly evolved. One of our strongest influence is our community. We have listened, discussed with, and implemented ideas that our players came up with. We wouldn't be here if it weren't for our community’s undying support for us. We’re proud to have 45 thousand active users on GMod Tower! We’re keeping that same attitude for Tower Unite. That’s why everything that we implement will be made for the community or requested by the community. Just like we did with GMod Tower, we aim to have constant free feature updates for Tower Unite.

What Is Tower Unite? Tower Unite is a community-based virtual world party game with online games, entertainment, and activities. Powered by Unreal Engine 4. Every aspect of Tower Unite allows for online multiplayer interaction. It is a living and evolving online game world, driven by the community. Play games online with your friends, or make new friends from across the globe. Tower Unite isn't just a single game. It's a union of games, united by the community. It's all about having fun with friends! Tower Unite will be available on PC, Mac, and Linux - distributed via Steam.

In Tower Unite You Can... • Play multiplayer games of various genres online with friends. • Customize yourself with clothing and accessories. • Use lots of different movement items such as jetpacks, wings, and rollerblades. • Furnish and design the layout of your personal space (the Condo) with furniture and interactive toys. • Invite other players over to your Condo for parties and mini-games. • Watch synchronized YouTube™ videos in a virtual theater or your Condo. • Hang out at a nightclub and listen to music synchronized with the environment and every other player! • Join official servers or host your own server. • Hang out with your friends or find new friends! • Steam Workshop support so players can add their own custom items to the game. • Receive free DLC for life and developer support. • Interact in new ways with gamepad support, and additional peripheral support in future updates. • Experience it in VR! We'll be working towards Oculus Rift and Vive support.
Give us a follow for frequent updates! Twitter Facebook Twitch Website Newsletter Press kit Feel free to ask us any questions you have about the game!
Is there a playable Demo yet? Sorry I can't look more closely, I'm on my phone at work.
Is there a playable Demo yet? Sorry I can't look more closely, I'm on my phone at work.
The new Ballrace demo is currently being soft launched, featuring a new level by Dominic. As for Alpha access, we'll be releasing it as a backer reward in the near future.
I don't think I will be getting into this at all after what happened on Gmod Tower couple years ago (if owner is same guy, if it's now overtaken by new people and nobody from old ones - I would definetely give it a second try) I can make up whole list of what drove me off the whole community, I used to play for hours on it.
Do former GMtower donators get anything fancy?
Do former GMtower donators get anything fancy?
We've got a couple things lined up for your previous support :) [editline]13th July 2015[/editline]
I can make up whole list of what drove me off the whole community, I used to play for hours on it.
Keep in mind that aside from official servers, we do have support for third party hosting. Its unfortunate that you had a negative experience in the past; however GMod Tower relaunched in 2012 with a fresh moderation staff, and I can easily attest that it has changed significantly since then. I strongly urge you to give Tower another try as everything has evolved so much.
Either way, it looks great so far. Just hoping that an EU server is on the cards at some point, Virus and UCH were nigh unplayable with a high ping.
Looks amazing! If this does get on the steam store, what would your pricing be for this?
Looks amazing! If this does get on the steam store, what would your pricing be for this?
$15
I wonder if it would be possible for you to make a streamlined version of APB reloaded as an open-world game in this? (aka with less features/unlocking to do) Perhaps with just a city map, driving, car customization, and tdm missions? [editline]13th July 2015[/editline] Wait could people create their own maps/gamemodes and host their own servers so potentially players could join a custom game mode? I think it would increase the longevity of the game to provide support for modders to create gamemodes that could potentially just be copied into the main game by the devs.
Ball Race is in the IGG announcements, anybody want to start a game? [editline]13th July 2015[/editline] It's so bubbly!
Wow, didn't know this existed until now. You, Foohy, and Mac have always been sources of inspiration for me; I'm definitely contributing!
That trailer is really what should of been shown during your first attempt using Kickstarter. As before, I'll be throwing 25 dollars at this. Good luck and I really do hope this succeed's this time around. Question: I really hate to ask here publicly but was my 3d art application from April looked at by anyone?
I dunked the $10 tier for now, I really hope you guys have better luck this time. As much fun as GMod Tower was, it'll be nice to have something like it on a better engine.
I'm not sure if it's intentional but the Ball Race demo is already working pretty well in Direct Mode for the rift!
That's actually pretty amazing. I've got a dk1 but the current runtime doesn't work with it anymore :[ Hopefully we'll be able to get a kit so we can start fine-tuning the experience. :eng101:

Originally the Job Application section was intended for GMTower applications, so at the moment we're not hiring for work on Unite. If the opportunity arises however, I'll definitely let you know.
So bloody excited for this, I love GMT, the only thing that drove me away from it is the lack of European servers and you guys already have this sorted out with user-hosted servers. Gonna back it on Indiegogo ASAP
This actually seems like a very neat way to relax and have a good time. Can't believe I never heard of Gmod Tower.

Donated $10 to GMT a while back, and donated $15 to this. Hope it goes well.
Take my money. Gonna donate $20 since I really want alpha access. [editline]t[/editline] Is that closed alpha access on the 20th of July still a thing?
Pls get funded
threw some money at ya :)
Pls get funded
It's flexible funding.
Since it's ran on UE4 and Squad is ran on UE4 what's your goal in terms of how many players can fit in to a single server? Squad right now is pushing 100 player servers but I'm not sure if they've actually filled a server with a hundred people yet so there's no real stress test data. We won't know how well that game will handle a full server until a week or so from now when all of us pre-alpha backers can finally get our hands on it IIRC Gmod Tower only had the default 32 players or whatever and even when the lobby server was fully populated the world was utterly empty. That begs the question if you are aiming for a smaller server load, are the lobby maps still going to be unnecessarily huge?

oh. huh, neat. thanks for clarifying somewhat
Also, garrysmod gmod tower had been known to rock 100 players at once
i don't remember that at all, but upon recollection i remember the theater having pretty much a full house at one point or another that was back when youtube poops were just becoming a fad
