War never changes. The Romans waged war to gather slaves and wealth. Spain built an empire from its lust for gold and territory. Hitler shaped a battered Germany into an economic superpower. But war never changes. In the 21st century, war was still waged over the resources that could be acquired. Only this time, the spoils of war were also its weapons: Petroleum and Uranium. For these resources, China would invade Alaska, the US would annex Canada, and the European Commonwealth would dissolve into quarreling, bickering nation-states, bent on controlling the last remaining resources on Earth. In 2077, the storm of world war had come again. In two brief hours, most of the planet was reduced to cinders. And from the ashes of nuclear devastation, a new civilization would struggle to arise. The game was initially intended to use Steve Jackson Games' GURPS system, but when Interplay made the decision to drop GURPS on February 12, 1997, it created its own system, SPECIAL. Fallout is seen as the "spiritual successor" to Interplay's classic 1987 CRPG Wasteland. In the aftermath of the Great War, the surface world burned. Underneath, hidden deep underground in Vault 13, survivors live a sheltered and comfortable life, away from the radiation and the perils of the wastes. In 2161, the vault's water chip fails, and needs a replacement. You are selected to exit the vault and find a new water chip on the surface. If you use Fallout Fixt you won't need the Unofficial Fallout 1 Patch, these fixes are included within Fallout Fixt itself. Released on September the 30th, 1998, it was officially developed by Black Isle Studios, which by that point had become a full-fledged design outfit. Fallout 2 is considered one of Black Isle Studios' best RPGs by most critics, and is generally well respected in the RPG community. Eighty years after saving Vault 13, the Vault Dweller wandered the wastes and founded the village of Arroyo, where a secluded tribe lives in simplicity and peace. As an unforgiving drought hits the village and threatens to starve its people, the Chosen One is sent to the wastes to find a Garden of Eden Creation Kit and save his people. Instead, Fallout Tactics focuses on squad-based combat and introduces near real-time combat, called "continuous turn-based" by the developers, as well as multiplayer mode, to the Fallout series. The game takes place in the American Midwest rather than the West Coast, where the previous Fallout titles took place. Because of inconsistencies with all the previous Fallout games, Fallout Tactics: Brotherhood of Steel is not part of the official Fallout canon except for its pivotal events. When the game starts, the Brotherhood is trying to claim territory surrounding Chicago. By offering protection to villages of tribals the Brotherhood is able to draft it's recruits from among the tribals. At the beginning of the game, the player character is an Initiate, a new recruit to the Brotherhood, tasked to lead a squad of soldiers made up of the available troops. As the campaign against the raiders succeeds into dispersing them into the wasteland, the player character is accepted fully into the Brotherhood and learns the eventual goal of the Brotherhood: A campaign west across the Great Plains towards the Rocky Mountains in search of Vault Zero, the one-time nucleus and command center of the pre-war vault network, where the most senior government, scientific and themilitary leaders were housed and the highest technology available was maintained. It is the third installment in the Fallout series and the first installment in the series to show the East Coast of the United States, with a story mostly disjointed from the two previous installments. It was released on October 28, 2008 in North America, on October 31, 2008 in Europe and on December 4, 2008 in Japan. Two hundred years after the great war, life in Vault 101 persists, its people few in numbers but sheltered from the perils of the wastes. Your father, the Vault's resident doctor, raised you alone to a comfortable, if simple life. In 2277, your father leaves the Vault for unknown reasons and you find yourself following in his footsteps. Forced out of the vault, you must find your Father in the Capital Wastelands. While technically a sequel to Fallout 3, New Vegas goes back to the West Coast and instead follows up on the events of Fallout 1 and 2. It was developed by a few of the employees who worked on previous Fallout games at Black Isle Studios, along with a larger number of new employees. It is set in the Mojave Desert. The year is 2281. In the middle of the Mojave Desert lies an oasis of vice and neon lights - New Vegas, the heart of the desert, ruled by the mysterious Mister House. Gamblers come to test their luck and NCR troops come to forget about the ever lasting threat of Caesar's Legion. You are the Courier, and you were tasked with delivering a platinum chip to Mister House. But you never made it - the lights of the strip were but a vague tint in the horizon when a man in a checkered suit ambushed you, stole your package, and shot you in the head, leaving you in a shallow grave. You awake eight days later, with a hole in your head and a score to settle. That's a good looking OP.
Hey, it's a new thread! Sweet. But seriously, I could've gone for a cold, Boston post-nuclear winter.
I'm surprised it took so long for a new one to be made. Has anyone else experienced a bug that causes distant power lines to become incredibly thin/disappear? I've had it since either 1.4/one of the last Nvidia driver updates, and I've tried everything I can think of to fix it (short of reinstalling the game and downgrading the drivers), and nothing's worked. It sort of feels like the AA is being too aggressive, but the probelm still exists if I turn the AA off, just to a lesser extent. Does anyone have any ideas about what could be causing it? I've got a screenshot of what it looks like from one of the Sanctuary rooftops, looking at the power lines roughly in the direction of Abernathy Farm: [t]https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/24970273/ShareX/Fallout4PowerLineBug.png[/t]
You guys suck, when I saw 20 new posts and a locked thread in the other thread I immediately thought "oh man automatron must have finally gotten a date." But nope, it was the same goddamn "new vegas is great"/"new vegas sucks" argument that happens like every 5 pages.
We need some lounge music in here.
Aaaaah, the smell of new radioactive thread. My nose is already melting!
The formatting seems a bit fucked on the OP, or is all that bold italic intentional ? I PM'd you two banners if you wish to use them. [editline]a[/editline] Should probably update the mod list, by the way. Some of these mods like SSEX are discontinued.
Patrolling the Commonwealth really makes you wish for a settlement that needs help. To late to snip it now. :v:

Ah, a new thread. All we need now is to break it in with some never-ending cyclic arguments. Really should finish Fallout 2 one of these days, but can never work up the enthusiasm. Had a pretty good time with 1, but 2 seems off for some reason. Dunno why.
Patrolling the Commonwealth really makes you wish for a nuclear... summer.
:(
The fuck youtube.
Well just download More Where That Came From, extract the songs into .mp3's, then play number 24 and it's the same thing :v:
Does anybody know what dictates the accuracy of NPCs? I'd really like to know if there is a way to improve the accuracy of my companions, or if there are certain weapons and modification combinations they excel in using. The same with settlers.

He's probably going to make a lot more stuff once the CK is actually out. I much prefer his full models to his retextures though. I'll update the OP as needed, gonna update the banner and if anyone wants to suggest some changes to be made I'll do my best to do so.

How's this for the banner?
Either dim the shadows a bit or pick a slightly brighter red. Pretty good otherwise
[editline]10th March 2016[/editline] Is that better?
Needs to be italicized. Personally not a fan of the colors as well, and the inner shadow on the text seems to me to not be saying "Hey its Fallout!" Either. I'd personally go with the traditional "Simple and Clean" style like the FO1/2 banners on the page with black font, maybe a dark grey for the V26 or try and grunge it up, use some additional shapes to give it more of a 3D perspective like the FO4 logo and maybe mess around with some brushes to try and give it a bit of a worn ascetic to it.
OP updated with nice banner. And I'd add more shit to it but I just can't be bothered, if anyone wants to edit it I can send them a .psd of it.
So I started playing fallout 2 for the first time a couple days ago while sick. I have never died so much in a videogame and not felt completely cheated.

Ok the Temple of Trials is shenanigans.
