Just noticed the beta is out, and there's no NDA to stop people from posting vids. :joy:
I love the sounds of the heavy machine gun blasting filthy genestealers to bits.
And the heavy thumping of the half a ton boots stomping the ground.
Used Nvidia Shadowplay to capture this, so i'm not sure if the audio is bad or not.

And here is the official forum for the game.
Loving the game and what not. But extremely concerned that everything seems to be scripted and there's no AI Director or randomisation in enemy placement. I've played through the map a few times and no matter what route I take or how long I take, they're all roughly in the same area with the same numbers.
That combined with the lack of permanent progression or any sort of out of game reward to keep you going really has me concerned for the replay value of this game. It's a great 40k experience, really good at conveying the mass and experience of being a terminator, the guns sound great and handle well, the melee is satisfying but I just don't see the co-op being fun more than once or twice and the singleplayer would surely follow, even if it does have a skill tree.
I'm hoping the AI is just like that because it's only the second mission. I have seen them flank and find different ways to get to me when I seal off doors in the later parts of the mission so I'm hoping it's just toned down.
I really like the game, and I have a feeling if they fixed all the technical issues and the spawns weren't predictable it could be pretty great.
I think the progression could work if they made it more like a MOBA, specifically Heroes of the Storm. Every few levels you can pick from 2 or more passives with active skills and weapons distributed in between.
I really want to like this game, my only issue is the lack of variety with mob spawning and some sounds. Some animations are kinda choppy, especially when looking at other players while they rotate. The map is fantastic though, with some varied spawning or as Fragg said a proper AI director, it would be vastly improved. For now I'm just going to hold off until I see some improvements. Best case scenario it's an older build, but I don't know why they'd do that.
