Hello all.
I've been a few months now on this and worked my ass off this week to put up this trailer and officially announce the development of my Portal 2 mod.
So far it's mostly a single man project (FP user brandonsh creating some animations for me),though that may change in the course of it's development.
Story:
The player ,one of the thousands of subjects sealed in the old extended relaxation shafts is forcefully awoken by its pod's malfunction triggered by a shock trough the facility.
The events escalate...

Here's the intro trailer

Will keep updating the thread with new content.
The wheatfield is very sexy. I just thought I'd chime in there.
Holy shit, this mod looks amazing. Great job I can't wait to play this.
This looks like an amazing mod; I really like how it all looks, and I love the idea of paralleling Portal 2's second half. There are only a few, minor things that I find a bit weird; you need to close up on the arms more during the intro (I dislike how we can see inside them), and the defective turret puzzle. Though clever, its not really intuitive to what you're supposed to do with the wires. I wouldn't have understood that I would need the turret to link the power, but then again that was a WIP. Still, I look forward to more of this.

Yeah,I've noticed the hands thing and will fix it asap. Also about the turret I'd thought the shooting range dummy would be enough of a hint for the player.
Thanks for pointing out dude!
Wow, the quality is excellent. Like Valve-excellent. Yet it doesn't feel like a Valve game, which is really good; too many mod devs try and take the Valve formula, and that makes the mod feel stale. But this is fresh, and I like it.
Holy shit dude, this is extremely good. Do you have any prior experience? I love how everything just falls apart. Can't wait to see where you are going with this. Will play when it's out.
This is top stuff. The level designs are awesome.
That is awesome. Looks great so far.
The only thing i didn't like was the control-room in the intro. It keep changing between the 50s Aperture science Innovators, and the 70s Aperture Science. It made it difficult to tell which time-period that section is supposed to belong to.

It's 1978 where aperture is undergoing changes but still ain't the 80's aperture.
In the original campaign the 60's and 70's aperture wasn't drastically different from the 50's style just until the early eighties it began to have major changes.
This looks incredible, can't wait to give it a go.
Everything looks awesome so far. One minor issue I can see with the wheat fields is there is no randomness; each piece of wheat goes in the same oval shape at the same speed and path.
I really wish I was a PC gamer right now.

Become one, it's easy!

No credit card, no steady income and very outdated computer. It'll take at least 12 months before I can do that.
[editline]19th August 2012[/editline]
I'm gonna have to remain as an Xbro until then :(
Other than small nitpicks, the mod looks very very promising. The only thing I think should be changed from what I've seen is the wire grab animation from the beginning. I don't think you should reuse that animation from a certain end-game sequence, but instead make your own. It's almost like a pimple on a near perfect face and looks off from the rest of the gameplay. Other than that, keep up the great work!
Also, if that intro sequence is supposed to be cinematic, maybe invest in SFM and see if you can recreate it. If not, use a controller instead of a mouse. A mouse makes the head movements jerky and unattractive, in my opinion. With a controller, you get the smoothness you need.
If it's not cinematic, than it's great other than what I said above!
I remember being blown away when you posted that intro in map pimpage/WIP, holy shit!

While the testing areas were similar, the non-testing areas were very different.
50's lobby:

70's lobby:

The small problem i noticed with the map is that it keeps switching between the two time periods. Before you get to the control room there are the 50's style signs with Aperture Innovators on them, and then you get to the 70's style control room with Aperture science, but then the sign saying main lift right at the end says Aperture Innovators and then there is part of the Aperture Innovators symbol right before the lift.

Fair point.I'll make some custom signs textures.
Thanks for the criticism anyway,I appreciate it.

I noticed a similar thing in the other video as well. There were Aperture innovators signs and then Aperture science. The 80's portal gun seemed completely out of place to, but that's a bit more understandable because you need the portal gun.
Is it meant to be areas from one time-period, or is it going to have sections from from all of them? Aperture did not upgrade areas, they just completely abandoned them and built a new one, which makes any mix of the different Apertures a little strange.

The gameplay video is outdated (over a year old) and is full of placeholders ,the shaft is supposed to be ranged from 1990 to 1995.
I was wondering when these pieces would reappear as a Portal 2 mod. Glad to see that it's still in production!
Screenshots are great too, yeesh man.
The way that your head shakes around in the trailer is a bit overkill.
The protagonist would have to have a really long neck or something, because it's bouncing around so far from their arms.
Also the wheat looks like it's pulsating rather than blowing in the wind.
Aside from nick picking, looks fucking amazing, especially since you're doing this on your own.
looks very nice :)
in the wheat-field the tree moves, like the actual tree, that probably shouldn't happen
Some new content bump!Adding to the OP later.

I always fucking loved walking through the old laboratories in Portal 2.
Can't wait for this mod.
