[IMG]http://apple-shack.org/MTADayZ_files/DayZ-GTA-San-Adreas.png[/IMG] Back in 2013 [URL="https://facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=1258759"]I was hosting a old version of this gamemode back on v1.3.1[/URL], this was when the gamemode was created by a very close minded and childish individual who was fleecing people for the "uncompiled" version, well now I've found out that someone else took on the development and decided to make it Open Source. Meaning anyone can edit it and do whatever they want to it (there's a [URL="https://github.com/mtadayz/MTADayZ/"]github[/URL] for this if you wanna git clone the master and make some changes yourself). [B]Ok so what is it?[/B] It's essentially a straight copy of DayZ Mod but for GTASA utilising MTA, its aimed on replicating or at least making a somewhat near close interpretation of what is presented in the ArmA 2 mod. Most if not all of the features of which are present in the base ArmA 2 mod can be found in this copy, it even has its own little base building extension. [B]So how stable is it?[/B] Fairly stable as long as I don't mess with it, so far we've found that the Blood Test Kit is a bit funky for some people, works fine for some but for others it just doesn't react to you clicking at all, still looking into why this might be happening because knowing your blood type ingame is a big thing when it comes down to giving someone else your blood. [B]So what do I need?[/B] You'll need either a retail copy of GTASA or the Steam version, if you have a retail copy you need to make sure your version is v1.0 as this is the only version that MTA will run on. You'll also need MTA 1.5.1 or newer, when installing MTA you will be given the option to downgrade the Steam version to v1.0, accept this as it wont run with any other version (plus it restores the removed music from what I know). MTA also runs as its own client seperate to the rest of the game so you wont have to worry about it messing with your other GTASA files, other than the downgrade process, so just be aware of that. MTA can be downloaded from: [URL]https://multitheftauto.com/[/URL] [B]That's easy do I need to download anything else?[/B] No you'll download MTA DayZ as you join the server, first time is gonna take a real while so you'll be sat on basically a black screen for a while as it downloads all the files needed by the gamemode. [B]How are the Zombies? [/B] Much better than before, now they feature custom animations and actually have working custom models. There are regular ones which don't take much to kill then there are these green motherfucking ones which are a lot more fucking tough and can be a bastard to kill, eating whole magazines from pistols etc. [B]What about the loot system?[/B] The loot spawn system hasn't changed much since 2013, only thing that has really changed is what spawns where, other than that loot spawns in piles and commonly near doors and oddly middle of the road... [B]Vehicles?[/B] There are many with model replacements cause why not we wanna look cool whilst we drive around in a Zombie Apocalypse, not fully sure if the vehicle system is actually respawning them though but we'll find out soon enough when more than one has been blown up. I remember the dope ass little hideout we made in san fierro, then we moved to las venturas... We had so much stuff lol. I might hop on if I have the time.
I've actually never played on MTA but this looks like fun!

I found a revolver but I can't seems to pick it up, how do I rearrange inventory and stuff? :v: Also is it impossible to punch a zombie to death

You can't punch a zombie to death as they have 4500 blood each. Also slowly adding in new vehicles, managed to add in a working plane so far, involves editing the database so server will be down till I've got them in.
So I managed to accidentally blow up 2 of the 3 biplanes, however this will be a good test to see if they respawn now. :v:...

is this game still horribly broken and buggy? i just got a new PC and i've been putting off playing games like fallout 4 because i just can't be bothered to play but the nostalgia for MTA is strong and i sure as hell have missed it [editline]10th January 2016[/editline] i mean i'd love to play mtadayz again but i didn't just shell out on a sexy new graphics card to play a broken mod for a 2004 game

How do you even equip stuff? I could pick up some bullets, but not the backpack on the ground or the knife I had.
Gonna look through and add some more resources to the server later. Also going to see if I can get the Hide Body option working again, I think I've found a way to at least get it working again. Also if you want I can make a more full tutorial on how stuff works because people are looking to get confused how how the inv system works, you need to have the item in your inv before you can equip it for example. Plus when you start, your inv size is extremely restrictive, you need at to get at least a backpack before you can even pickup a weapon for example. I can look into changing this if you want because weapons take 10 slots minimal and the "no backpack" start is 6 slots.

Did a few more server side edits and threw in some more vehicle spawns, looking at around 60 vehicles now active.
I was kinda optimistic that this might pull in some people, guess not. Servers been empty for a few days. v:v:v
I actually installed MTA just to try this out but the server's been empty most of the time and playing alone isn't fun.

Oye guys, im trying to get back with the english players of mta dayz, nowadays there is alot of people from thailand and hungary who play it mostly. Im a swedish guy and right now devoloping an mta dayz server. The server is called DAyz chaos English classic Its a bit more modern than the old dayz mta with a bit of new vehicle and skins and a bit more resource, if someone is able to join the server and play that would be awesome!
