I just received an email from paypal saying the summer sale is set to start on the 23rd of June. Though the sales of late have been extremely lackluster, I still hold out hope that our Lord and Saviour Gay Ben will provide us the sustenance we so desire.

The only sad thing is that all of the games that usually are on sale is already in my library :(
Hoping for some Publisher bundles this year.
Yeah, it was leaked a couple weeks ago that it would be on June 23, so it's confirmed.
I dont think there are many games i want through steam at this point, if the summer sale is that close then others should follow soon. The PlayStation Network store is bloody expensive.
I wish I could find hidden gems that I never knew I wanted during this year's sale.
Every year I tend to evade the sales because I'm too afraid of building a backlog. This year's gotta be different.
Still going to be selective rather than splurge, however.
So what games are ya'll gonna get?
I'm planning on grabbing the new Hitman, Killing floor 2 , project cars and r6 season pass
Probably just a bunch of random stuff on my wish list.
Not getting excited for these sales anymore because you already own most of the games you want is par for the course, and you should remember that a lot of newer Steam users benefit from the sales.
The thing I don't like about the newer summer sales is that there isn't "fun" stuff. Like, I remember during the 2011 one that you could earn tickets and unlock in-game prizes, you don't get that kind of stuff with the recent ones.
they tried to do that with the summer combat idle game last time and that didn't go so well for them.

Oh yeah, I remember that now, I thought that was pretty fun. What exactly didn't go so well for them, though?

I will get any new games that are actually on sale. Otherwise probably Killing Floor 2 and some other nonsense.
I guess it'd be some impulse buying like last time.
absurd amounts of disconnect between server and client, no one knew what the fuck they were doing and i still don't know what the point of it was

It was a just a fun minigame, too bad it couldn't take the capacity of steams' userbase.
I'm gonna buy myself a bunch of puzzle games and point&clicks. I've been wanting to play something nice and quiet these last months.
One of the games I have my eye on is Arkham Knight. Anyone know if it was fixed up and made playable, yet?

I enjoyed all that too, but stuff like that gets exploited and ruined for everyone else. It's been too long so I don't remember the details, but that winter one with the coal and free gifts got farmed and cleared out fairly quickly, with the gifts getting resold by the farmers. I also recall complaints for that summer one, people didn't like the idea of having to buy games to be able to earn tickets. All the tickets were tied to achievements, so people could use something like SAM to get all that without effort.
As long as they keep trying new things for these sales, I'm fine with that. Would get pretty boring if they just did the same thing every sale.
120$ in my account
Hopefully there are good sales on games I want.
Oh hey, I'll be able to justify purchases as I'll actually have a fucking job this time.
Also two things I'm looking for, RE5 and DR2:OTR, for some reason Capcom NEVER want to put these on sale, even now every other RE game is like 80% off, but RE5? No discount
Hoping to get Mega Man Legacy Collection, cheap as it is already I can't really say no to a few quid saved.

OTR was on sale a few months ago. Had every Dead Rising game on sale.

I liked that minigame, even got a sweet "1,000,000+" steam badge from it
Such a shame there isn't as much interactive stuff as there used to be in the sales

I'd like to open the dances with One Piece: Pirate Warrior 3, which is currently on sale, but I don't know if I should (my only motivation would be to catch up with One Piece)
OH GOD
I'm so used to not getting anything during the sales that I completely forgot about it :V
But not THIS TIME because I have MONEY
I will buy Shovel Knight.

This is what killed it for me, I just want massive packs of games to add to the number on my profile page

It ran fine for me since day one but I wouldn't recommend even trying out unless you have 16gb of ram. It's like a 40gb download so keep that in mind if you plan to refund it in case you can't run it
Liked the last Summer Steam thing just because I was able to get the Level 100,000,000 Monster Summer Badge.
